  • Nice & useful for fish tank! Highly recommend it!
Been searching for a reasonable on of these for years and finally found one here. Great item to keep on hand for when the fish squabble and near to keep them apart. This is way better than trying to catch a fish and removing it to another tank. Way easy to set up and install and I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • does the job.....
Weii ,I don't like giving bad reviews and this one is mixed. First let me say now I got it installed it works great and looks fine.....but putting it together was a pain.. the best way to install is put it together THEN put it in the tank.. Now what I like ...the price, to me makes it worth the pain....also I am very happy that the holes are small enough to keep babies from passing through. I will also be ordering more as I am happy now it is installed...thanks... ... show more

  • Great for Bettas bu not African aquatic frogs
I purchased this divider to keep my male Betta from scaring the rest of my community tank to death. Plus, my neons were disappearing. A little background: I purchased a small tank already set up and stocked with a beautiful blue Betta and an Albino African aquatic Frog for my office desk. I brought this self-contained unit home each weekend and became attached to the two little creatures in the tiny tank (as did my cats) and I felt sorry for them being in such a small space. I had room in my community tank so I added them and put the tiny tank away. THe betta became very aggressive and chased the clown loaches and neons unmercifully. Then the neons started disappearing and the loaches turned up dead so I took action and bought this divider and a Beta bed leaf for his side of the tank. I went to a pet store and purchased a female Betta and replaced the neons and clown loaches. The Bettas had wonderful time displaying for each other and he started blowing bubbles for the nest (she was very small and I wanted to see how they would react before adding her to the Betta side. Meanwhile the frog had grown to about 4 times his original size. All appeared to be well and then a neon disappeared and then another so I put the frog in with the Betta. THe next day he was back in the community side of the tank! So I got the net and scooped him up and he jumped out onto the living room rug and the cats and I started a merry chase which led very quickly to the woodpile and after disassembling that finding the frog still alive and well it eventually jumped into the cats' turbo-charger toy where I finally captured it and returned it to the Betta side of the tank Next morning he was back on the other side! Unfortunately, I temporarily gave up and by the next day he had eaten the female Betta. THe male refused to eat breakfast. I must say I didn't feel much like eating either. I recaptured the murderous frog and put him back in the tiny tank and set out for the pet store where I purchased another girlfriend for the Betta. They take turns displaying for each other and she then takes off to explore the tank until she feels like flirting some more. So this divider was the perfect solution for the Betta problem but it does not work for aquatic frogs! ... show more

  • Not Good for Bettas
I bought this divider to divide my ten gallon so I could house two male bettas. Now, this divider might work well for other fish, but it is not suited at all for bettas. The mesh screen that comes with this divider is crystal clear and bettas can see straight through it. Before buying this product I had read reviews that this kind of divider is OK because bettas will just flare at each other for a few days, get used to seeing each other and then live peaceably; however, from my experience, the stress this divider creates for bettas is really, REALLY not worth it. I started with two happy bettas and after using this screen for about 4 days I now have two bettas that have stress-induced fin tears. I tested my tank water and there's nothing wrong with it, the problem is that this divider just stressed them out too much. I even tried to prevent my bettas from seeing each other by putting plants next to the screen and replacing the clear screen with plastic canvas but it was no use, they would just swim in and around the plants and flare at each other and they can see through plastic canvas. I finally took one of the bettas out today and put him in a fish bowl and I can only hope that their fins will regrow, but I really would not recommend this divider for betta owners. I will say that the divider itself worked well at keeping the fish apart, it stayed up straight and they didn't jump over the top so I think that if you used this with other sorts of fish it would probably be okay, but just not with two bettas. Now I find myself with two sick fish and out about 10 bucks from buying this divider and I still have to buy another filter and heater to set up my second betta. BETTA OWNERS: Save your money and just buy another tank! P.S. Of less importance, but I thought I should note it anyways: The plastic tracks that come with this divider are aqua blue and really don't do anything for the look of your aquarium unless you already happened to have an aqua blue color scheme going on. If you're looking for something that will blend in with your tank decor, this won't. It would have looked so much better if the tracks were black or white... it would also have helped if the mesh itself was opaque black instead of clear but I digress... ... show more
