This soaker feels a bit heavier-duty and slightly wider than other similar style hoses, and I think the current $20 price for 50 feet is reasonable. One thing to be aware of is that these fabric-style soakers do not pair up well with the old-school recycled-rubber soakers in a chain. It doesn't matter whether I put this before or after the rubber soakers -- the fabric hoses don't build up enough pressure to drip. I suppose the rubber soakers are not built for the same pressure, so all the water leaks out through their larger pores, regardless of how much I open the faucet. Interestingly, I can separate rubber lines from fabric with a splitter, and for some reason this allows both sides to drip properly, even with both splitter valves wide open. This product feels like it should last longer than the rubber ones, but time will tell. ... show more

This is a nice set of two 50 ft soaker hoses. Very light weight and should do the job. The hose will lie flat when not filled with water. it has a terminal cap for each hose to cap off the end hose, especially if you connect them to create a 100 ft hose. What I don't like is that the fittings are aluminum and not brass. That would not be an issue to someone with soft or city water. But I have hard water from a well and the minerals in my water would corrode or "galvanize" (meld into) other metal connectors after a time. So it would be wise for you to wrap some Teflon tape around the male ends of your hoses to help with leaks and easy disconnection of the hoses should you have mineral corrosion issues. One other thing...at each end of the hoses they have a strong plastic grip that will help protect the wear and tear of the soft hose material. This is great. But also, don't forget to either drain or bring in the soaker hoses should you have unexpected freezing weather...plastic cracks. ... show more

Perfect for your soaker hose needs. This is a lot nicer than our last plastic-y soaker hose. It’s just the right length to use in my flower garden, it’s kind of heavy but I think that speaks to the quality as it’s not fluffy, it’s flat. I don’t think you can go wrong with this if you’re in the market for a decent soaker. *As an Amazon Vine member I select products personally to review. I recently received the 50FT Thickened Flat Soaker Hose for my garden beds, and it has been a great addition to my watering setup. I like that it lays flat, making it easy to position around my plants without kinking or taking up too much space. The double-layer design feels durable, and I have not experienced any leaks so far. I like the end wrap near the nozzle. I feel it will help avoid tears at the faucet if the hose was pulled too tightly. This hose is also flexible enough to weave around my garden beds, and I like that it will save water while keeping my plants healthy. It connected easily to my irrigation system. These are really tough hoses, and much stronger and more resilient than the rubber soakers I've had previously. That seems like a good idea for the flower garden area where I have these given the gardening tools and work in the area. The material is a thick woven fabric with pinprick holes that seem to work well for actually getting the soil saturated. I'm finding it takes an extra 10 minutes of timing on my timer to get the ground thoroughly saturated, so I've had to adjust my sprinkler system, but I believe these will better longer term due to the strength and quality of the materials. ... show more

PVC tube wrapped with a sturdy cloth material with aluminum connectors, these 50’ soaker hoses do a good job. They lay flat and don’t kink. If I’m away from the house for a couple days I can simply put them on a battery operated timer attached to my faucet. (Timer not included) Easy to roll up and store when not using and just as easy to unroll and lay out when needed. The connections are good and secure without leaks. I am a recent convert to soaker hoses VS sprinklers for my garden. I am an even more recent convert to these lay flat type soaker hoses. They don't take up any room at all. Pair this with a timer after you've got it run through your garden and let the magic happen. Side note: I was worried that the material would be thin and flimsy but it is in fact not at all and is a nice thick material with a water permeable weave. I dig it! ... show more
