This appears to be a quality water hose. I say “appears” only because I have not had it very long so, obviously, I don’t have months of experience with it. However, I have used it and have had good results. I connected it in-line with another hose and turned the water supply valve on but with the discharge end of the hose arrangement closed so that the hose would be subject to full pressure for about 15 minutes. There were no leaks. The shipper included hose sealing washers and a roll of Teflon tape in the package with the hose. I thought that this was a nice extra, not so much for the washers because it is common to include those with a new hose but I had never bought a hose before that had thread sealing tape (Teflon tape) included with it. In fact, I don’t think that I have ever used sealing tape on a garden hose (water pipes, yes, but garden hose, no). However, it makes a lot of sense to do so. It is not prone to kinking and that is a nice change from the standard rubber garden hose. Adjacent to each connector is a stiff collar which helps protect against a sharp bend at the hose-connector junction. As can be seen from the photos on Amazon, the outer cover is made of a helical coil of stainless steel. Some hoses have a braided stainless steel cover. I was curious about the relative merits of the two types so I did some research. Here is a summary of the two: “Braided: The braiding enhances pressure resistance and durability while maintaining flexibility. They are excellent for applications requiring high-pressure handling and resistance to kinks. Helical: While they may not be as flexible as braided hoses, they offer superior strength and durability, making them ideal for medium to high-pressure applications. If you need a hose that can handle higher pressure and remain flexible, a braided stainless steel hose might be the better choice. If durability and strength are your top priorities, a helical stainless steel outer cover hose could be the way to go.” ... show more

I use this hose to connect a pressure washer to my water supply. I wanted something short, compact, and easy to coil for storage. This 8 foot hose weighs about 1 pound and coils nicely. My set came with three extra rubber washers and a small roll of Teflon tape. The 4 inch black grips are a little different than depicted on Amazon. The 2 inches closer to the fitting are solid and the next 2 inches are a strain relief design. The grips are threaded onto the brass fitting. It looks like the stainless steel hose is attached to the brass fitting with press connection. The male brass fitting is one piece. The female brass fitting is 2 pieces allowing the large knurled part to rotate. I point all this out to finally say you can’t really use the black grips to tighten or loosen the fitting from whatever you are attaching it to. You will need to turn or hold the knurled sections. I’ve tested the hose with my pressure washer and it works as expected. There is plenty of volume through the hose and of course no leaks. So for my application it’s perfect. ... show more

Love this hose. This metal hose has alleviated the issue I have had with my dogs chewing up my hoses. I also love that it does not kink or get sun damage. I have also noticed it has a natural water pressure when I use it. I don't need any hose adapters to create this pressure. I live in a semi- rural area on a few acres. I decided that all of our outside hose bibs should have hoses on them, including the ones that we seldom or never use. In our yard, we've got the area around the house and then the "Back 40." There's a lot of hose bibs out there. Some of the rubber hoses that I've used in the past have gotten black and stiff from sun exposure. This little metal hose looks like it will be absolutely perfect. I got the 8ft length... a little small, yes, but still super handy. The couplers were brass... a nice touch. It came with rubber sealer things to keep it tight against the faucet. Looks like it will last a long time. I'm pleased and will reorder. ... show more

I previously purchased light weight garden hose with fabric outer layer and latex core. It works great until it starts leaking :-(. This one caught my eyes because of the stainless steel outer layer but not sure if it is still lighter than conventional rubber hoses. Received the item a few days ago and tested out. No issues with the hose. Weight is a little bit heavier than the fabric ones but still substantially lighter than rubber ones and no kink. Fittings looks and feels quality with extra washers and teflon tape included. One caveat, since I was not able to do an extended test, only time will tell if the hose will not leak or puncture. ... show more
