  • Huge upgrade from my glitchy A6 in the Corolla - minor nitpicks Huge upgrade from my glitchy A6 in the Corolla - minor nitpicks
Size: 12.5"
I installed the ATOTO A6TYCR02X09PF in my 2013 Toyota Corolla L back in 2023. Since it was designed specifically for the Corolla, installation was straightforward with no dash kit required. For the first year or so, I was happy with it. The 9-inch screen was nice, and the built-in DSP helped the stock speakers sound better. I mostly used it for media playback and Bluetooth audio. After a couple years though, the issues started piling up. Apps crashed constantly thanks to the underpowered CPU and only 2GB of RAM. Boot times were painfully slow, and even though it had GPS, the clock would always be wrong at startup. It kept resetting itself during my drives. Bluetooth calls sounded terrible, like I was talking in a well, so I stopped using that feature entirely. The fixed screen was also slightly awkward since I had to look downward when using Waze. Finally pulled the trigger on the ATOTO X10G125E. The unit arrived well packaged with foam protection, so no shipping damage. Had to grab a Scosche dash kit to make it fit just right in the double-DIN spot, but I reused the A6 harness without any issues for power, speakers, and controls. Hooked up my aftermarket steering wheel controls with the included harness and everything works perfect. Volume, track skip, switching sources, all of it works right out of the gate. The upgraded CPU and 8GB of RAM make a huge difference. No more crashes at all. Apps and media load crazy fast, even when I'm running split-screen stuff. The bigger, brighter QLED screen tilts too, which makes glancing at it while driving so much easier than the fixed A6 screen. Big win for music as well. The aptX HD Bluetooth support is a real upgrade over the A6's basic audio, giving way better quality for wireless streaming from my Android phone. The external noise-canceling mic is clearer than the A6 but still doesn't quite match stock OEM car mics. The free 100MB SIM plus 10GB 10-day trial code gives a nice taste of LTE streaming without hotspotting my phone. No clock issues so far on the X10. It stays spot on. GPS locks on fast with no issues. Radio reception is comparable to the A6, both work fine. I hooked up the rear camera and it doubles as a dashcam, which was interesting. Live view and no lag for tight parking or road trips. I skipped the front cam since I already have a dedicated dashcam. Tried the DriveChat AI feature and so far it works as expected. By default, it uses ChatGPT models for replies, and you can use voice commands to control radio functions similar to how you'd control devices with Alexa or Google Assistant. Might grab their OBD accessory next to run Torque Pro for engine diagnostics. Now for the minor nitpicks. Those LED light bars on each side of the screen keep flashing like a party and I can't figure out how to turn them off. Haven't found any documentation on it yet. The installation instructions covered the physical setup okay, but didn't include anything about the actual features or how to configure them. I also can't get the reverse camera guide lines to show up. I see a setting enabled for it, but when I put the car in reverse, no lines appear on screen. I'm chalking it up to user error and not having documentation on how to properly enable the feature. I discovered the sleep time setting affects how long the LED bars flash after turning off the car, and also controls whether it does a cold boot or quick resume next time. Cold boots feel a bit slower than the A6, but you can set the cold boot frequency like every 7 days, or even never if you want. Cost me about $600 to swap out the A6. Worth it to get rid of those crashes and performance issues, plus that larger adjustable screen makes a real difference. Addendum: With support's help, I was able to turn off the LED light bars. There is a button on the back top left edge of the screen that will turn off the LED light bars. ... show more

  • Awesome Android 13 based head unit! Awesome Android 13 based head unit!
Size: 10"
This is my third Atoto head unit. I started with an F7WE and then upgraded to an S8 Premium to be able to have Android apps native. The F7 is still going strong in my son's car and the S8 will be moving to my project FD RX-7. I was interested in X10 due to the move to Android 13 with a stronger processor and higher RAM and storage capacity. I opted for a 10" screen as I had seen one in the wild and realized I could make one work with my RX8. So far, the X10 has been a large improvement over the S8. While I do not know the voltage of the preamp connections, I know that they are higher than the S8 as they drive my factory Bose amps/speakers with more headroom, able to achieve higher loudness, while maintaining a phenomenal sound. Another major improvement over the S8 for Android Auto is that the X10 can control the voice prompt volume separately from music. This is something the F7 was capable of so I'm glad to have that capability again. Installation was very straightforward and went without any gotchas. The best part is that Atoto uses a standardized power plug in the same way Pioneer has, so I didn't have to redo my wiring harness for the new head unit. The plug in my dash is the original F7 plug which worked perfectly for my S8 and now works for my X10. If you are looking to upgrade this definitely makes it much easier. I have not played with the AI chat function much as of this review. It is an interesting feature but I'm curious how useful it will end up being. I'll let you know how that plays out in a 6 month update. There are only two thing I wish were different with this device. I wish it had a bit more flexibility in its depth adjustments. I'd love to have it a half inch to an inch closer to the dash. I also wish they would have colored the RCA preamp outputs in the standard car audio colors (white, gray, purple, and green). They used the standard red and white with little stickers to indicate front and rear. Those are really just nitpicks though. Overall, I'm very pleased with the unit and its performance and if you are in the market for one of the best Android based head units on the market, look no further. ... show more

  • ATOTO X10G110E in a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 ATOTO X10G110E in a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500
Size: 10"
I just purchased and installed an ATOTO X10G110E in my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. I had installed a very nice Kenwood about 10 years ago and it still sounded fine, but due to it's age it was missing features I now wanted, i.e. no Bluetooth, no Apple carplay, etc. So I decided to upgrade. I really like ATOTO products. This is actually my fourth ATOTO head unit that I have purchased/installed. I have installed two ATOTO P6's, one in my 1969 VW and one in my daughter's 2009 Toyota Corolla, and, I installed an F7 in my dad's chevy truck. All of them work well, sound great, are responsive, and I really like the backup camera feature in each instance. So I'm really happy with ATOTO. I purchased the X10G110G a few weeks ago and it was a similar install as the others. So far, here are my thoughts: 1) I was worried that the "floating" screen would bug me since it's outside of the dashboard. I used the lowest height settings to leave as much clearance as possible for my heat/AC vents. I'm finding that I don't really notice that it's not integrated. It only protrudes about an inch from the dash, and I guess if it really bothered me I could modify the installation brackets and push it back further, but at this point I don't mind it at all. 2) This unit is VERY VERY FAST. Basically turn the key and it's on. No wait at startup. However if you do a full restart of the unit it will take about ~20 seconds to fully come back up. The screen is beautiful and clear, and moving between screens/apps is instantaneous. ApplePlay and Maps work perfectly. 3) I bought an ATOTO AC-4450 Bluetooth OBDII/ OBD2 Car Diagnostic Scanner/Scan Tool so I could get real-time information from my old truck's OBD2 port. It's fantastic. I can open Torque any time for my truck's vitals. If you get one, note that you have to connect it to Bluetooth II in order for it stay connected while your phone is connected. 4) I had an ATOTO AC-44P2 1080P USB DVR On-Dash Camera that I didn't use on a previous install. I could never get it to work with the X10 so I ended up buying aAC-FHD02DV FHD 1080P On-Dash DVR Camera and that one works perfectly. If you get a "signal error" don't panic, just go into your camera settings and change it to "recording camera" and it will work. (I learned that from experience. :) ) 5) The system update is good in that it will connect directly to your WiFI. Note however that it takes ~1 hr to update. And, the update failed for me the first 3 times. Fourth was successful, so be patient. Or, I saw on line where someone had contacted support and got the update file from ATOTO, so you may want to try that if yours fails. 6) I absolutely love this head unit but I wonder why they designed it so deep in the dash. My previous ATOTO units were basically flat installs with a ton of space behind for wiring. This one is the same formfactor as a 2 DIN with a CD ROM. Not a lot of room behind for the wire harness and other cabling. It fit, but was a bit squishy. 7) The sound quality is AWESOME. I was replacing my old Kenwood so I wanted high audio quality as I have an external amp and subwoofer. Be aware that you will probably need to tweak your external amp settings with this unit. I had to way back off my gain and boost on the amp, but now the sound is just amazing. Love it! 8) ATOTO technical support is great! I had some questions during the installation process and they were super responsive and helpful! Bottom line, I would definitely recommend this head unit if you're looking for fast performance, a big beautiful screen, and wonderful sound! ... show more

  • Solid product, lousey wire.
Size: 14.1"
Product showed up extremely well packaged and was simple enough of an install process even for what I eas planning to put it into. Unfortunately I got eventhing wired into my truck, the cages on the Headunit and went to test the headunit before final install, at which point I discovered i had no display just a black backlit screen. Ultimately it turned out that in transit for the warehouse to me the connection for the display had broken off completely and fallen down into the headunit body. If i can get it replaced with a working one that isnt broken will update, but for nearly $900 after everything not being able to vomolete my install because the unit is broken upon arrival is frustrating. ... show more

  • ATOTO X10 Floating Android Car Stereo - A must have! ATOTO X10 Floating Android Car Stereo - A must have!
Size: 10"
First and foremost, I'd like to extend my gratitude to Atoto for giving me the opportunity to review their latest product. This marks my third Atoto stereo head unit. My journey started with the F7WE, which I installed in both my vehicle and my father's. Later, I upgraded to Atoto’s newest unit, the X10 Android floating head unit. The F7WE has been going strong in my father's vehicle since its installation in December 2022, and I'm thrilled to have been able to repurpose it. The X10 caught my attention due to its impressive specs, running on Android 13 with the Snapdragon 665 octa-core processor, 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of onboard storage. It also supports optional external storage through USB and an SD card slot, providing ample space for all my needs. Additionally, the unit features a dedicated external USB input for recording footage from the front and rear view cameras—a significant upgrade that showcases the versatility of the X10. (Note: the front dash cam and rear view cameras are sold separately by Atoto.) The X10 offers a completely different platform from the F7, with its Android-based system making it feel like I have an Android tablet in my vehicle. It boots up in mere seconds, and the sound quality is superb even without a high output amplifier. The unit allows for extensive customization of presets, enabling users to achieve higher loudness while maintaining exceptional sound quality. One feature I particularly appreciate is that Android Auto allows the X10 to control voice prompt volume separately from music, a capability my F7 series also had. Installation was a breeze, as Atoto uses a standardized power plug compatible with my previous Kenwood and Atoto units. This meant I didn’t have to redo my wiring harness for the X10, as the original F7 plug worked perfectly. I haven't explored the AI chat function much yet, but I’m eager to try it out soon. From what I've seen in videos, it’s an intriguing feature, and I’m curious to see how it will enhance my driving experience. I plan to provide an overall update within six months. There are only two things I wish were different: dedicated physical buttons for home, volume, and mute instead of relying solely on the touchscreen, and standard car audio colors (white, gray, purple, and green) for the RCA preamp outputs, rather than the red and white with stickers for front and rear. However, these are minor personal preferences. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with the X10 unit from Atoto. If you're in the market for one of the best Android-based head units, this product is an excellent choice! ... show more
