  • Great addition to my sound system! Definitely recommend! (Check end for tips to dial it in)
Size: 1200W
Honestly, this is a really great sub for only $75! It fits great under the seat of my 3rd gen 4Runner, and if tuned right, it will blend super well with your existing system! I bought this since I was already replacing my head unit with a CarPlay/Android Auto unit, and I would already have everything taken apart. I was surprised to see that they sent all of the necessary wiring along with it, eliminating the hassle of making sure I have the correct gauge wire! Overall, I'm super impressed with this thing, and it has definitely made my sound system way better! Here are some specs from some tests I did and some tips to dial it in: The sub can comfortably produce tones down to 40Hz, and then it begins to taper off about -10db below 38Hz. That's pretty impressive for a sub with such a small enclosure. To further extend the low end to about 37Hz, I just boosted frequencies below 40Hz in my EQ settings. I also noticed that at around 70-80Hz, its enclosure resonates the most, so to compensate a little for the volume change, i just reduced 70-80hz a tad in my eq to balance it out. If you run into the problem where you notice that you can hear where the sub is coming from, it can be a bit distracting when playing music because the bass will sound separate from the rest of the speakers. This is likely from the sub being allowed to reproduce frequencies above 90Hz (which is where humans can start to tell the direction of sound. To fix this, set the sub's range to anything below 80-90hz, or simply turn the crossover knob on the sub if you don't have the option in your car's settings. Lastly, test the two positions on the sub's phase switch (the 0/180 degree button). Depending on where the sub is in your car, the sound waves from your sub might be slightly canceled out by the rest of the speakers and sound shallow. This button inverts the sound wave. Test with it pressed and with it not pressed, and choose which makes the bass sound the fullest. ... show more

  • Would have been 5 stars...
Size: 1200W
The powered sub itself is worthy of 5 stars at this price point. However, the included wiring kit is junk. I couldn't even get 12v at the fuse holder on the battery side and ended up having to purchase another amp wiring kit. I probably would have given this 5 stars at the same price if it hadn't come with a wiring kit at all. Weird to knock the product for an add-on, but I was expecting to be able to use it. Bought for a '96 Buick Roadmaster but it doesn't fit under the seat, due to the size of 90s power seat motors. I hooked up to the OEM radio in my VW Jetta instead and mounted it to the fold-down backseat for an instant improvement on a budget. The sub itself doesn't look or feel "cheap", it's sturdy with no corny designs or RGB nonsense. It sounds pretty good, and makes its presence felt without overpowering the music at reasonable volumes. The high level speaker inputs with auto-on is a great feature on such a budget sub. It made it easy to hook up to the factory radio harness wires without using a line converter and remote turn on wire. The sub wiring kit include RCA cables for an aftemarket radio but no speaker wire, so you need some of that and some pink heat shrink butt connectors (and splices of your choice) if you use the speaker level harness. All in all, a good add-on sub for grown-ups who want to listen to music with good bass and no dorky LED flashing. PS the terminals on the sub for the power & ground are 8ga if you get an upgraded wiring kit. ... show more

  • Okay subwoofer, doesn't come remotely close to specs however
Size: 1200W
Physically, this unit is well-constructed with a solid metal body. I was impressed that it’s a complete kit, including the line-level converter and all necessary wiring (RCA, power, and remote). However, I am rating this 1 star due to blatant false advertising regarding power output. This is marketed as a 1200W subwoofer, but the math doesn’t support that. The unit comes with a 15A fuse. Using the formula $P = V \times I$:At a standard 12VDC, the maximum draw before the fuse blows is only 180W.I tested this with a high-quality multimeter at max settings. It peaked at 10A at 13.6VDC, which translates to roughly 136 Watts.Even allowing for "Peak" vs "RMS" marketing fluff, this unit isn't even delivering 1/8th of its advertised rating. Beyond the power issue, the low-pass filter is imprecise, leading to noticeable "bleed-over" and mid-range droning. If you're looking for true 1200W performance, this isn't it. ... show more

  • Quality control issues.
Size: 1200W
Installed everything and still had issues powering it on. Spent hours troubleshooting only to find out that the crimp connectors on the ground wire weren't making connections to the wire. I had to strip the wires and put my own lug in for it to work. The remote knob also doesn't work. Sounds OK after I got it working, but not the best. ... show more

  • Small package, big bass… very happy
Size: 1200W
2006 4Runner install. Running aftermarket speakers in the stock locations with a SJoybring head unit with wireless CarPlay (it’s awesome, btw). Needed a little bass to improve the overall system. Growing up in the 90’s I had huge subs 2x 15” JL’s in a little hatchback. The things I did to my ears… but I knew this wouldn’t be anywhere close and that’s fine, I’m past that phase. So my expectations were low for a $80 Amazon no-name sub. All I can say is WOW. This little thing hits hard and without distortion. It fits most of the way under my seat but does stick out a little because there is an air duct and seat wiring in the way, but it’s mostly hidden. The wiring that comes with it gave me some trouble because under the power wire heat shrink tubing the manufacturer crimped the wire insulation to the lug instead of the wire itself, so I had to fix that after finding the problem with a multimeter, but let’s assume that’s not common, so you’ll probably be fine. Long story short, I’m more than happy with this purchase and for the money, I don’t think you can find better value. I didn’t want a sub with flashing lights and this fit the bill with a metal enclosure and simple setup. Very impressed. ... show more

  • Improper wire striping and connection.
Size: 1200W
Nice packaging, very well done. However… be aware… the red power cable connection on the fuse end, with shrink seal on it was not stripped of the outer coating and crimped on the connector with no contact with the inner wire. ( WHAT ? ) It took me hours of process of elimination before determining that this was the cause for no power. After checking and rechecking all the connections. Obviously I stripped and replaced the connection. And stripped all the other connections as well to check them before continuing. Totally uncalled for. Might want to look into another brand and made in USA. !! ... show more
