Indeed it's easy to set up, and I was pleasantly surprised that upon first powering it up, it displayed the correct day and time, although the time was set for a different time zone from mine. This was easy to change. It's also easy to set reminders and alarms. The numerals and letters are clear. The remote is a huge bonus feature, and it came with a battery already installed so the clock was enjoyable from the first. I will complain that the mounting hole on the back is dead center, which causes the clock to hang crookedly because of the weight of the adapter cord on the right side. Newer editions should put the mounting hole off center. I used a push pin into the wall to support the cord so that the clock hangs straight. A person could also use Command strips (not a Command hook, obviously) to adhere the clock on a wall. The adapter cord is rather short: only about 44 inches. That will increase slightly as the cord straightens out from being folded for transport, but keep it in mind if you want to hang the clock on a wall. The included leg or support to stand the clock on a horizontal surface is a separate piece and can be stored elsewhere if you hang the clock on a wall. Back to a positive: a huge array of choices for alarms and reminders. Various alarm sounds/tunes as well as volume levels. There was a minor problem with the clock and Pastigio through excellent, fast communication fixed it. I do recommend this particular clock because of the Pastigio brand and will probably be buying more to give others. Not bad at all. Very easy and straightforward. Five different alarm sounds to choose from with 5 different sound levels to pick from. Exactly what I needed because my dad takes pills three times a day. I am excellent at calling and reminding him. But sometimes I get busy and can’t break away at work to call him for 2 mins. So this is absolutely perfect. If you unplug it the time will stay. You just have to keep it plugged it to display and for it to work. So you don’t have to worry much about power outages aside from it being out when an alarm is supposed to sound off. I was hoping it had a battery backup slot for power outages but I doesn’t. It’s bright and easy for him to see. I am the only one that helps him with stuff for him, so this little $25 clock is going to be a really big life saver For me. I also like that it allows you to set how long the buzzer plays for. It would be cool if we could adjust each buzzer length per alarm, but unfortunately it is a clock wide setting. Not a deal breaker for me at all. Sometimes he’s deep asleep and won’t wake up. This way I know it plays for three minutes and should hopefully wake him up if he is napping. Little tools Like this really do make us as caregivers live a little lighter and breathe a little easier. Size is very compact and sleek. It’s the size of a standard old school alarm clock just a whole lot more slimmer. I am eager to present it to him when I see him tomorrow. Five stars so far. ... show more

YES! It's EASY to read! YES! It's an excellent device for ANYONE having SOME difficulty keeping track of day, month,etc! However, I wouldn't say that it's EXACTLY "easy" to set up (IF) if one is without a COMPETENT individual to assist with changing such "categories" as ...REMINDERS! Otherwise ...it was VERY simple to get started and is VERY useful for one to be able to glance and see all of the information re; day, date, time, AM/PM ... SO GLAD that I purchased this item!! ... show more

The clock came already set. It is easy to use. The directions in the book were easy to follow. It has options, so you can pick what pretty color or display works best for you. It can dim at night automatically. It has a remote, & multiple alarms. I was extremely happy with it. My husband loves it.

Great clock for dad with Alzheimer’s when he keeps waking up thinking it’s the next day etc, has the day of week, date, time and best think it says “pre dawn”, morning, afternoon, evening etc which is huge, can attach to wall or has a cheap stick out the back (our snapped) it’s not a great parts clock and isn’t worth the $$ for quality but it WORKS GREAT FOR WHAT I NEED, the stand broke first week… ... show more

Purchased for an elderly relative in a nursing home. She has vision issues and gets confused about what time of day/night it is and what day of the week it is. This clock is amazing! Comes working right out of the box. We did have to change it to daylight savings time, but that was so easy. It dims automatically in the evening so that it isn't so bright that it would disturb sleep. It seems sturdy and it has weight to it, so it won't just fall over by itself. It needs to be plugged in and the cord is on the right, while the stand to keep it up is on the left, so take that into account to make sure you have a place to put it. It can also be hung on a wall.
