In this role, one filter is good for about two to three weeks. I have successfully back washed the filter to get more life but they're only not good past that. Just switched from 5u to these 1u filters. They are noticeable heavier, but they seem to work fine so far. Too soon to know if they will cause any flow issues. So far, so good. Good price.

Tried these charcoal versions out because they are priced less than the regular OEM filter. It's working as expected and if anything changes during use, I will update it. The only thing I foresee is I won't be able to see how dirty and brown the filter is when I go back to change it the next time like the way the white ones show. ... show more

I have two filters in parallel feeding the house. I've been using filters for about 25 years or so and these seem to be the best quality filters so far. I used to buy mine at either of the two big box stores and they were never this "dense" and substantial. The flow through them appears to be great and I use them mainly for sediment/calcium removal along with removal of a rust particulate and they seem to work great. I just ordered another 4 cartridges so I would have enough for a while! Price at about $6.25 each is GREAT! ... show more
