  • Strong rope
Size: 1/2IN x 100FT Style: Orange
I used this rope to pull large shrubs out of the ground with my truck. The rope didn't break, and held together.

For the price it’s a great deal. Used it to drop a large tree that was leaning towards my house. Had me nervous but worked fine

  • Super rope
Size: 1/2IN x 100FT Style: Orange
Even though it is a little tough to form knots in close fashion I found that the rope is very strong and jokingly remarked that I believed one could pull a tree down without cutting it. After exerting tremendous force on the rope by tying it to the hitch on my truck, there was no evidence of any damage to the rope while pulling on trees to encourage direction. The specs indicate that the rope can sustain 9,000 pounds of force - of that I have no doubt. The rope also has a great gripping texture. ... show more

  • Good Quality Affordable All-Polyester Rope. Listing Lacks Load Limit Safety Info. Good Quality Affordable All-Polyester Rope. Listing Lacks Load Limit Safety Info.
Size: 1/2IN x 50FT Style: Orange
This all polyester arborist rope is custom designed for forestry work. Polyester is known for its strength and lack of any stretch. As a sailboat captain, I know that is why Dacron ropes (Dacron is a well-known brand name for polyester material) are used for setting sails on a sailboat. With no stretch, the adjustments to a sail stay put and don't change under load. If you want stretchy rope to handle shock loads, look for ropes made with all nylon or a combination of a polyester cover with a nylon core. This rope is pretty to look at close up with a tight, almost iridescent, outer woven cover. The cover feels slippery for abrasion resistance, yet the texture of the braid has a nice grip in my hand or glove. It's a little on the stiff side for knot tying, but "stiffness" is a common attribute of all polyester ropes. I ordered the 50-foot section of this rope which is pretty short for tree work, but a handy length to have on hand. The length of rope I received was nicely cut and heat seared on the ends to prevent unraveling. I usually add a little bit of heat shrink tubing to as an extra measure to protect the ends. As with most products, you do get what you pay for. The price of this rope is at the lower range of cost per foot for this rope type. This rope also appears to be at the lower end of the breaking strength range for rope of this type. Don't get me wrong. It's still a very strong rope. But how strong is it? I was disappointed that the listing does not have any technical information about the breaking strength or the safe working load limit (WLL) ratings. This information is essential for anyone using these ropes in order to not overload the rope and stay safe. Nevertheless, I was able to get this information by looking at listings by other Amazon sellers of this rope which I believe is sourced from a common manufacturer. As best I can determine, this rope has a "Maximum Tension Load" or "Breaking Strength" of 7400 pounds. Using the commonly used 5:1 safety factor, the working load limit (WLL) is 1480 lbs. For the safety of you and your crew, never exceed the working load limit of any rope. ... show more

  • Solid Arborist Rope That Delivers on Strength and Versatility Solid Arborist Rope That Delivers on Strength and Versatility
Size: 1/2IN x 50FT Style: Orange
I picked up this half inch arborist rope for a mix of outdoor tasks like securing gear while camping and handling some light rigging around the yard. Right out of the package, it feels substantial with that dense 48 strand weave giving it a smooth yet grippy texture that inspires confidence. The polyester construction stands out for its resistance to UV damage and moisture, which is crucial when youre leaving it exposed to the elements during marine outings or tree work. With a tensile strength pushing 9000 pounds, its built to handle serious loads without stretching much, making it ideal for pulling swings or even basic climbing setups. What I appreciate most is how it balances durability with usability. The double braid design keeps it from kinking easily, and while it starts off a touch stiff, a quick tie off to a carabiner loosens it up nicely for smoother knotting. At 50 feet, the length strikes a perfect middle ground not too bulky to carry but plenty for most jobs like hauling branches or tying down tarps. Ive found it outperforms some thinner ropes Ive tried in the past, especially in terms of abrasion resistance against rough bark or rocks. Overall, this bull rope is a reliable choice for anyone into outdoor adventures or practical rigging. Its not the flashiest option out there, but the quality shines through in real world use, and the price feels right for what you get. If youre in the market for something tough and versatile, this one wont disappoint. ... show more
