  • not 16 mil
My micrometer tells me this is 11thousandths thick not 16. Now before you start responding, vinyl is measured in thousandths of an inch not millimeters. I have an electronic micrometer that I use in the reloading process for my competition rifles. I am confident it is dead accurate. I measured this tarp in several places and all measured 10 to 12 thousandths thick, never 16. That said, it is clearly thicker and heavier than any you can buy from Lowes, Home Depot or Costco. Also, when it says 20' X 30', it is indeed that, most tarps fudge. I bought a bottle of 303 UV protection spray from amazon and am coating the exposed side heavily. I know it says it is UV treated, but I live in Tucson, where UV is raised to a different level Hopefully I get more than a year out of this tarp protecting my bass boat. I have a boat cover on it then this tarp over the top about 2' above the boat and cover. I am building a boat garage but am hoping the boat cover and this tarp do the trick until the garage is done.So far so good. Maybe I can give it 5 stars in a few months. Update Aug 2016. Tarp still doing well ... show more

  • Perfect boat cover - Strong
So far so good. Using this to cover my boat in the marina parking lot. I have a wake board tower on my boat that is a total pain to take off and put back on (you have to remove the wake board tower to get the factory winter cover on the boat). I got tired of dealing with the wake board tower and so I put a thin blue tarp over the boat late in the summer. The thin blue tarp was too thin and took too much abuse from sun and elements and was full of rips and holes after about 2 months. I then bought this heavier gauge tarp and put it on about 2 months ago. I checked on the boat/ cover yesterday as we have had some recent rain and winds and the cover is in perfect shape. I only wish they had a different size that would better fit my boat (I think 20x20). PS - This tarp over the wake board tower works really well as it provides complete 100% coverage and still allows air to circulate. Super easy to pull over tower and use some ropes or bungees to tie down the tarp. ... show more

  • Quality product.
I bought this to fully cover a 26 foot pontoon boat during the off season. It has plenty of eyelets which allows for a nice snug fit in whichever way you choose to utilize the product. I am very pleased with it so far and am certainly hoping that I will get a few seasons out of it. It is indeed a nice thick tarp which is what I was hoping for when I purchased it. My only concern is that the eyelets are made of a very thin aluminum and at least one was a bit loose upon its arrival. I was able to easily fix it with my fingers...... Which is when I discovered how thin the material was. Overall a nice heavy fine quality product for the money. I have had it on for about 5 months now and it has performed very well for me. Since the eyelet material is thin I highly suggest that you fasten it down extremely securely and tight, so no air will get under it and try to blow it away or free from its bindings. I am not sure the eyelets are strong enough to with stand that type of force. However, you should ideally do that with any and all tarps anyway. Buy with confidence, this is a fine quality product for you money. ... show more

  • Missing eyelets
I purchased a smaller one before and loved how strong and durable it was. My husband loved it so much he wanted one for himself. So we got this huge size. 20x30. The only thing is that after struggling to put it up he realizes that a few eyelets were missing on one side(6). It rained so we were not going to return it used. He went on his own and inserted the missing eyelets which in itself was a struggle. My only recommendation is to check that all eyelets are there before using. Other than that, it’s extra heavy duty, what we were looking for. My chickens are happy ... show more

  • Best tarp I've found after 22 years trial and error for this price.
I spent $141 on this tarp in July 2014 and had high hopes when I received it because of it's extreme weight of 36 pounds. I've had to replace tarps on my 22 year old "temporary" shed every year that were costing me 70 or 80 dollars, then $90 on "New 20x30 Heavy UV Treated Tarpaulin" here on Amazon in September 2013 that lasted 9 months under Seattle's scorching sun with it's seams splitting open and material degradation, and hoped that spending even more would get me a better and longer lasting tarp. I was right, this tarp is still going strong after 2 1/2 years and am expecting a 3 or 4 year lifespan. I've learned from a lot of experience the importance of routinely loosening the attachment points to keep all poly tarps from tightening like a drum head under UV rays, this relieves the pressure on the seams as it's secured directly to my plywood or wood framing with sheetrock screws and fender washers. I will eventually buy this tarp again at an even better price now! ... show more

  • Excellent durability
Have had this tarp since Nov. 2018. Have used it to cover loads traveling up and down I5. Has kept everything dry and has not ripped. Have also used it to cover a travel trailer through a couple of wet Washington winters without fail. Best money I've ever spent on a tarp.

This tarp is heavy but I got a big one, going to use it to cover our motorhome. So I would like to give another review later after going thru a winter with this tarp. It appears to be well reinforced at the hooking down parts are in a thick layer, We have extreme cold here so like I mention earlier will get back for a true review on how well it does then. ... show more
