Use the automatic plug: If the water is enough, the switch floats and operates normally. If the water level is too low, the switch droops and the pump automatically off. Use the manual plug: The float switch has no effect, the pump is always on. If the water level is too low, you should unplug the plug manually.
- Durable and SafeThe mechanical seal has good wear resistance and is made of silicon carbide under the protection of cast iron material shells. Built-in automatic thermal overload protector, overheating or dry boiling will automatically shut off. The non-clogging vortex impeller can pass through 2" NPT debris to keep the pump running continuously. This is exactly the pump we need for the underground storm shelter. Every Spring, the shelter leak at the seams. But no more multiple trips with the shop vacuum to vacate the water. This small, but very heavy and heavy-duty pump makes super quick work of it. It's cast iron construct gives me confidence that this with last a long time!

The pump was easy to setup and so far works great, performing as stated so far. Will update later if there are any issues or problems. Great product and great buy. Updated, pump installed and works great. An update pump is still working fine and no issue. even after a light freeze it is still pumping the pool water with no issue.

A lot of pumps have passed through my hands. There are pumps, and there are PUMPS. When this was delivered today, and I had a hard time picking it up and carrying it inside (it's about 70 lbs!). This model has a float switch, but you can bypass the float switch, which is nice in case it fails. The other pumps, sump and sewage, have all had smaller outlets, too. 3/4"-1.5". This is one of the few 2" outlet pumps that I've seen. I will literally need to get a bigger hose to get this properly fitted, but that's ok. I don't mind. This is one of the most monolithic pumps I've ever owned. I don't think it could ever be a bad deal because even if it fails, it will still make an amazing boat anchor. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. 5 stars. If it croaks, I'll be back.

More powerful than our slightly smaller grinder pump but heavier too @ 56 lbs. We're using this for our back yard, which has areas that get quite flooded during heavy rain. We're replacing our regular sump pump with this one since this pump can grind up leaves, small branches, & other debris. Our other one basically jump pumps out water and maybe tiny debris. But our other one has a floater while this one doesn't. So, up to us to watch it to make sure when to start & stop it. This pump is quite powerful @ 6900 GPH and can handle up to about 2-inch diameter debris. It has a cast iron material to be able to take the wet with some solids better than the plastic or other metal ones. Since it's quite heavy duty, it is heavy @ 56 lbs. So, this is staying home. Recommended.
