This product is not sturdy or safe. The screw thay holds the metal plate you screw into the wall does not remain tight. The threading it does into is small, and it will not tighten. All my attempts failed, and even when I thought I had it tight there was a gap between the bar and the plate. This causes motion on thr product when even the slightest bit of pressure is applied. This definitely would not hold any weight for someone that depended on it. I actually believe it would break if weight were applied. NOT a safe product. ... show more

This "SAFETY BAR" is Dangerous. The way the bar is attached to the ring that bolts to the wall is unsafe. The 5/16" 12mm bolt threads through a thin piece of metal NO NUT JUST A THIN PIECE OF METAL you cannot tighten the bolt it is always loose, just strips! I would have returned this but NOW I HAVE SIX HOLES IN THE WALL BY MY TOILET. I am going to try to braze in a nut or order something better but VERY DISSAPOINTED ... show more

    • Bolts are not threaded! Unsafe!

The idea is good. BUT the bolts are not threaded properly and DO NOT TIGHTEN, for the product to be tightened to the wall. Very unsatisfactory!!! Will be returning, if I cannot find a courser threaded bolts!

the bolt in the end cap does not hold - molly bolts don't hold after adjustments - no flange on top of sleeve; plastic sleeve goes right through sheet-rock.

Most grab bard have a mounting plate welded to the bar. This one has a metal disk welded inside the bar and the mounting plate attaches with a bold. There are too few female threads to tighten the mounting plate. It is impossible to tighten bolt to the welded disk, as it keeps breaking loose. I returned it and got a new one. Same problem. As the holes were already in my tile I had to use this design. I barely tightened the bolt and mounting plate then used LockTite Red thread sealant. After setting for 24 hours I felt I could use it. It is now up but if the LockTite breaks loose with use, I'll have to purchase another type bar and replace the tiles. This is a really poor design. ... show more

I agree with previous reviews. RED FLAG! NO threads to keep the bolts for the mounting bracket attached. Honestly, one twist to tighten with the wrench and NO grab whatsoever! Seriously, how do you miss that? Time to process the return! Ugh
