This review is mostly focused on the idea of a weighted blanket. In the 3 days we have had the blanket it seems nice and well made. It is soft and overall of "apparent good quality." If the blanket somehow explodes and burns down the house or something crazy we will update our review, but from here on out it is focused on the concept of a weighted blanket. We bought the 15 lb version for adults 130-160 lbs. The Wife is 5'2" and 100 lbs and is VERY claustrophobic, she didn't want to try it. Our bed cost more than my car and she still tossed and turned constantly. The idea of a weighted blanket scared her and the price made me cautious to try it. She normally would sleep best in a state of constant physical contact. She doesn't have any other anxiety or other social issues, just constantly moving around while "asleep." The blanket doesn't feel heavy when you are laying down, but is somewhat heavy to move around. She keeps the blanket 2/3 of the way up her body and leaves her arms free to avoid feeling trapped. Since she only kept 2/3 on her body, it also might make sense that it was designed for a heavier person than she is. She was politely cautious about trying it. 3 nights in the verdict is very clear, "Best sleep of her life." We have tried multiple sleep aids, nothing has ever gotten a better review than "It helped, but didn't fix my problem." As the husband, one of my primary house duties was to "snuggle" her from the moment she was tired, to the moment she woke up. I have been completely replaced in this job role. If she buys a robot that can do the dishes and take out the trash, I might find myself on the curb as well. Pro's: 100% delivered on the better sleep promise. Wish we had tried this years ago. Compared to so many other things we tried that didn't deliver 1/3 of the results this "expensive" blanket is actually one of the cheapest "sleep aids" we have tried. Cons: Probably not a great idea to put in the washing machine often, so you need a Duvet. Buy one made for weighted blankets so it can be tied down inside the duvet cover properly. Probably need to be washed all by itself. It's hard for a small person to move without it dragging everywhere.

First off, I have never even heard of a weighted blanket, until my beautiful wife got me one for Christmas. Wow. I don't know the physics, or the reason, but having a weighted blanket "hug" you, is quite amazing. Maybe it's a "mental" thing, I don't know. All I know, is how wonderful this 20 pound blanket is. I have been using it nightly and sleeping great. I can't explain it, I really can't. This blanket literally "hugs" you. That's perhaps the best way to imagine it. You feel "safe" under it. You feel "happy" under it. You feel "comforted" under it. Now, as with all things "Dad" gets, (thats me, I'm "Dad"), my 13 year old twin boys love it as well. (They each had to try it for a "nap") My wife tried it for a nap as well, and experienced the same sensations as I did. Overall the blanket seems well made. After a month of use, we've had zero issues with it. The weighted "beads" are well distributed and are held in there respected areas by how they sew it up. The blanket has many small "squares or rectangles" filled with the weighted beads. If you're in doubt wether this may be for you, try asking your friends if they have one, and what they think. Maybe go to their home and just sit in a chair and put one on you. You may be very, very intrigued. *I have not recieve any type of compensation for this review.*

This. This is perfect. My first good night’s sleep in a long time. When I opened the package and felt the weight of the blanket, I was extremely skeptical. Now I would recommend this to anyone who has sleep issues.

I think most adults probably have an adjustment period compared to most kids... I am officially a big weighted blanket fan! This is my first weighted blanket and have had it 9-months at this time. I bought a 20lb weight and it's been wonderdful... I just wish I would have gotten a heavier one. The weight distribution has been good and the blanket has held up just like new even with daily use. It's not specially soft nor is it rough or bothersome texture wise, at least for me. And, it has gotten softer and more comfortable with regular use. For the price this is a great first weighted blanket to try to see how you like it. At first, probably for the first few months, especially the first month, I did get hot and had to stick a leg out or turn down the room temperature. I have also adjusted to and gotten use to the weight and it's a relief to get under instead of a distraction or weird new sensation. Actually, I take back wishing I had initially gotten a heavier blanket; I think getting use to the new experience/sensation and having time for my brain and body to acclimate over the past several months was needed, before deciding I wanted to go heavier. I bought a queen size blanket, for only myself, and have a king size bed-- I'm 5'9" and over 200lbs, and the size is perfect for sleeping. It's important to realize a 20lb throw size will feel heavier than a twin/queen/king size blanket. I loved the weight of a friend's 20lb throw I tried before taking the plunge to buy a weighted blanket for myself. I was initially disappointed the weight on me felt less, but ended up being a good thing to get use to the experience. Lastly, my bedding, as an adult, has always consisted of a bottom sheet(no top sheet), a blanket (layed flat and not tucked in), and a comforter. I currently have a lighter comforter on my bed, and only on cooler nights do I actually pull the comforter over me. I cannot sleep if I'm hot, and my usual nighttime room temp is 68-degrees celsius. Folks may/probably will need to experiment with your bedding, room temp, and/or pj's overtime as you acclimate to the additional weight. I no longer overheat and feel comfortable all night. .... "Thumbs-up" on this specific 60x80 20lb blanket, especially for the price, especially as for first-time weighted blanket.

Before you read this, I want to remind you of something... We sleep about 1/3 of our lives. 33.3% of the time, if we're lucky. That means any bedding we use, we get our money back fast in usage. 8 hours a night X 365 = 2920 hrs. Divide that by a typical $80 weighted blanket, thats 2.7CENTS an hour, or $0.21 a night. How much would you pay for a night of quality sleep?? Your bed and all of its accessories are worth dividends, invest in yourself and your health. Anyways.. Love the darn thing, really need to buy a second one. Can you imagine 40 pounds on top of you?!My dream blanket lol. My quality of sleep definitely has improved, the blanket stays with me most of the time, but I do move around alot. I would've gotten a heavier one had it not jumped up in price alot for 2 more pounds... It does feel crazy heavy at first, then you get used to it really, really fast. It gets to the point where this blanket feels like a regular one, and normal blankets feel like sheets. Seriously. I know this blanket would help hundreds upon hundreds more if they knew about it. Funny thing is that the material is exactly the same color and pattern as my other blue blanket, so I get confused at points which is which. I don't think there's any issue of someone looking at this blanket and thinking there's something weird about it, if you're afraid of that issue. The beads do seem to gather together easy on the edges, but this is a very minor issue for me and I rarely ever notice it. Fixes easy. It really does stay cool, especially if it's by itself, I'm not using a cover either. Don't knew what else to say, it's a really heavy blanket, stays cool, looks like a normal blanket, I wish I had two! Well worth it!!

I have been using this for almost 8 years and still love it. It's great quality and I sleep so much better with it. I didn't realize this until recently when I had to go a couple days without it. I take it with me everywhere I plan to sleep. I don't find it too heavy to travel with, but I also lift toddlers most of my day at work, so maybe I'm just used to it. It doesnt feel as heavy when on the body to me.

It’s been over a year and I can’t believe I haven’t submitted a review yet. Although it looks like I began to write one and never submitted it, because it’s still showing up here. I’ll leave that one at the end and start a new one. From the first time I slept under this blanket, I knew it was the thing that had been missing from my life. In addition to the things I mentioned below, I’m convinced that when I cover myself with this “magic” blanket from my toes to my chin, the considerable amount of pain that I usually experience fades away. Maybe you’ll say that’s all in my head, but I don’t mind. Whatever makes it work is fine with me! I never want to sleep without this. Even though it is in excellent condition after more than a year of daily use, I’m already thinking of buying another just in case anything happens to it. Highly recommend! *** I buy a lot of stuff, and very seldom review anything. But I can’t shut up about this blanket, and I’m running out of people to tell! I keep telling everyone that whatever the problem is, the solution is a weighted blanket! I’ve only had it for a little over a month, and I already don’t know what I’d do without it. I got the 60”x80”, 20 pound blanket. It took me a day or so to get used to it. I’m only using the bottom sheet and the blanket. As soon as I get under the blanket and find my position, I go to sleep pretty fast. If I never had to go to the bathroom, I’m not sure I would ever get out of bed. But when I do get up, I really feel like I got some sleep. There is no heat in my bedroom so it gets pretty cold in there. (I like it.) But I’ve noticed that the blanket doesn’t warm me up, it just keeps me from getting cold, if that makes any sense. When I’ve slept for 6-7 hours and fold the blanket back to get up, the blanket feels cool, but I’ve been cozy. I’m betting I can use this even in the summer. Highly recommended!
