I read lots of reviews prior to purchasing, and this rice cooker is a win for me. I got it to replace my old rice cooker that did the job for 10+ years. I was skeptical because of the reviews stating they received dented products, but I guess I got lucky and received my rice cooker in perfect condition. This makes better tasting and perfectly textured rice, every time. I've had cheap rice cookers, they don't compare to this. Well worth the money, easy to clean. The parts on the lid come apart for easy cleaning (important factor for me in choosing this rice cooker). We had this model since they were $60. Eventually upgraded to new stainless one and it was a joke Was glad to find the earlier model online This keeps rice warm and ready to eat overnight—newer models do not Go with the old standard!!!

When the lid is closed, there is a gap in the lid which is allowing air into the pot causing the rice to get mold. I bought this smaller cooker so that we wouldn't be wasting rice and it has worked great the first 5 months we had it because we would go through rice very fast. Then, 1 of my sons moved out and the rice wasn't going as fast. That's when my wife started noticing mold on the rice after only a few days. Maybe it is a defective seal on the door, but I don't know how to test that. I just know that my wife says the gap in the lid (see picture) shouldn't be there and we are getting mold growth on the rice after 2-3 days, which did NOT happen with our old Zojirushi. I might try to replace the seal to see if it helps. It it does, I will revise my review, but until then, the 3 stars will stay. I give 3 stars because the cooker seems like a solid appliance. It cooks well and fast, and 5qts is a good amount. ... show more

Like the title works great. Might be a bit big for a one person use but still, i like it. The color is nice too. And bc I’m not making much rice. (I’ll make a about 4 servings at a time) it cooks up quick and well
