I usually stay up and read later than my lovely wife, so these light-up reading glasses are a must. They work well, illuminating my books while keeping the room dark enough. I also love the "swing-hinge" battery compartment, which obviates the need for a tiny screwdriver every time I need to change out the batteries. I have two quibbles, though. The stems are a little weak. I bought this replacement pair to replace my last pair, which suffered a broken left stem. The other issue is battery life. I'm not sure much can be done about this, but it seems I'm constantly switching out the batteries on these glasses. ... show more

My original pair lasted a year before I had to replace. I love these! The batteries last a long time. My previous pair, the black plastic paint on the arms rubbed off on my face and I only stopped using them because they got a scratch when I dropped them. The lights still work. These are handy when working in dark spaces like electrical panels or when searching for things under furniture. These glasses are sharp looking and the lights have helped in so many scenarios from working on my heater in the attic to paying a bill at a dimly lit restaurant. Also a fun conversation piece. If you're going to wear reading glasses, you have to own it with a sense of humor. Not mention i use less lights in the house at night because I can pop on the glasses for a quick reference. I love the glasses, i have 4 pairs and at least 1 light is busted and batteries have fallen out on each one. Still use them just tape the sides.

The glasses seem to be the power described. The LEDs are dimmer than I expected -- but may work in some situations. I like that they are advertised/perported as lasting 50 hours. There is a switch on both sides - controlling one of the LEDs. The The switches are small and slightly difficult to access. Would be nice to be rechargeable rather than replacement batteries.I have seen/ purchased other glasses that have a better LED but the glasses are not as sturdy. ... show more
