    • 280 trax is the way to go.
First off, I utilized a mod 280 15 yrs ago and the external drive wheel chewed up the edges of my plaster on most rounded edges (steps, beach, etc). However it did a great cleaning job. I recently purchased the mod 280 trax which utilized a rubber track around the two larger wheels on one side thus preventing the drive from touching any pool surfaces. Belt that turns the wheels keeps coming off and gets stuck stopping the wheels from turning. I do not see any adjustment for the belt, to fix this problem. Can't get any help from support, after 25 minutes on the phone and be transfer many times to other departments just to put on hold for another 20 minutes nobody comes to the phone. Bought the tank trax model and had to adjust the drive wheel to engage the drive spline as one side did not turn. 5 minute repair though. Otherwise great unit.

There is water bubbling out of the quick connect - not sure if it is not hooked up right or if there is an issue. Moves slow and seems like it is not working. Does not sit flat on the pool bottom - leans to away from the rollers/track side. We don't know if this a suction issue or if it is a flaw with the sweep. ... show more

The track works wonderfully for about a mi ute or two and then slips off the rear wheel and won't move anymore. Serious issue.

This cleaner does a good job. The directions along with Utube made it easy to get the unit sized perfectly for my pool. The unit has done a great job of picking up leaves and debri.
