This heater is going to be PERFECT this Fall/Winter for an outdoor farm cat that frequents our porch and has pretty much adopted my husband and me.     • Impressive little coop heater for price point!
This radiant heater is a great choice if you've got cold winter nights - or like me, you start chicks in the early spring when it's still very cold! This unit is weighty and feels very sturdy, and with a built in hanging set up, it's perfect for open-area coops. I know that it's depicted as being useable in the middle of a coop, but I personally wouldn't recommend it -- chickens are too prone to knocking things over and though this doesn't get very hot, you could still potentially start a fire if it was knocked over! Also, because this is a bigger unit, it's great for young chicks - they can self-regulate their warmth without all crowding one another dangerously.     • Very easy to use
This little panel is going to come in handy right now as freezing temps have settled in up here at night. You can hang it on a wall or leave it freestanding, freestanding works best for us. The cord is plenty long to place it where needed.

This is a nice heater to keep my chickens warm this winter. I love the easy plug and go design of this coop heater. You can just place it inside using the included standing base or install on the wall. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Nice little lightweight heater. I like that the chickens can't burn themselves. You can control the heat easy enough and it's a good size. Gives me a piece of mind for winter and now I won't have to work as hard lol. It's a good deal and doesn't take up much space.     • Not the warmest heater.
The temperatures where we are just went from the mid 90s to the low 40s over night, so it was time to winterize the coops. Most people say not to heat the coop, chickens don't need heat. Well I don't think that just because an animal survives months of living in freezing weather means that they don't need or want heat. Regardless, they won't get much from this heater anyway. It just doesnt put out much. Even after an hour, there was hardly any difference, so I don't feel like its worth the electricity it takes to use. Thumbs down on this one. ... show more
