Lots of reviews complained that this was not study enough for a full size basketball. I agree. However, knowing that, I still bought it because I have a 4 year old. We only use a smaller ball and this is perfect for it. it's not the most sturdy, but honestly, it's a short rim and portable. You can put some bricks and cinder blocks on it if you need extra stability.     • Crack in base.
After assembly and after I put 50 pounds of sand in it, sand leaked out of the base near the post. A 3 inch crack was discovered. I’m not tearing it down and returning it. It’s a Christmas present for 3 little girls so I decided to use JB Weld on the crack. I don’t know yet if it’s fixed, but I do think the company should send me a new base. New base being sent.     • Flimsy backboard... but good for smaller or lighter basketballs
Good for the cost and for my 4yr old. The backboard is very flimsy and already tilts forward a little, so we won't practice a lot of bank shots with an official sized basketball.

The pros: it arrived on time, it was fun to play with our 5 & 9 year old. We purchased a set of mini basketballs which were a hit with our play dates. Cons: It didn’t last a year. We kept it in our driveway and although LA doesn’t get much rain it was enough to add damage and cause our backboard to deteriorate. I wish I would have taken a picture to show you how the background faded and crumbled. The net is really cheap so I purchased a better net on Amazon that worked so much better. Headboard is so small. Not sturdy. Net disintergrated into pieces. In short it fell apart very quickly. Think it lasted 1 month. Save your money and get a good basketball hoop from Academy Sports. We got a Spalding NBA brand and we wished we had taken the $80 topped up and bought the $250 hoop from the beginning. You get what you pay for. ... show more

I ordered this basketball goal for my 8 year old son and I am happy I did. My son is pretty tall for a 8 year old but this goal is perfect for him and his friend. It's really durable as well. I'm super satisfied!
