This is a perfect beginners rod because it’s very simple and it comes ready to fish. Great for catching crappie, sunfish and small bass. The only negative is that I can’t tighten the drag quite enough. It’s all the way up but anything bigger than the fish in the photo can’t be reeled up and out of the water due to the drag not tight enough. I caught a stout catfish and had to remove the hook on the ground because it was heavy and the drag kept letting loose. Could be a defective rod I guess but otherwise perfect for fishing my neighborhood lake. ... show more

We ordered these a few months ago so we could start fishing again. For a couple months everything was fine. Then... I went to cast mine(pink) and the pole snapped right at the plug.. we put it back together and we could get a few casts out of it before it came apart again. Brought it home that day and tried to glue it back together. It didn't hold long. So I went and bought a new pole. And hubby used the reel from mine on another pole that had a bad reel. Love the Zebco brand, but disappointed it didn't even last 6 months... ... show more
