I live in LA and it is already heating up here but this AC really came through with keeping my apartment cool. It’s surprisingly quiet and cools the room fast while also filtering and cycling the air. Also very easy to move around between rooms as it is lighter than most portable ACs and has wheels. This AC is straight up AWESOME! First of all, it has an app that makes it super easy to use from anywhere in your house with a really cool layout. Second, it's extremely powerful, I got the 16000 BTU model and it cools my entire apt (about 600 sq ft) super fast. Finally I love the look, its really a well made and beautiful machine with very pretty green trim lighting a sleek design so it actually looks really good in my living room as opposed to window units.     • The worst air conditioner on earth.
Mechanically this thing is fine, but the control system sucks. Seems to have a mind of its own, and is as if it’s designed to interrupt sleep. It has a massive, room soaking green light on it that can only be turned off with the 3rd grader designed app or the remote, which only sometimes works. It always thinks it’s colder than it is, leading to cutoff long before a room is cool. It only really consistently cools in “boost mode”. Even then, it will only “boost” until it thinks the room is 61 degrees, when it is often far from that. It likes to it kick off in the middle of the night and not come back on, making us wake up hot at 1am, and then a weird silent fight begins with the thing to try to get through the night. It ignores the constant fan speed setting, turning the fan on and off as it pleases even when set to stay on. Average night goes like this: when it wrongly thinks it’s done cooling, and the fans turn off and it goes idle at like midnight, waking us up, then it gets hot in the room by around 1am, waking us up, I mess with the unit and the remote for a few minutes to trick it into cooling again, the green light remains on no matter what the app says, bathing the room in light. at 2am it turns off again, waking us up, and at 3am it will briefly blast at full speed for like 5 seconds and then wind down, waking us up. This cycle continues all night. ... show more

    • Great features!
The media could not be loaded. Perfect for my A-Frame house. I wanted an air conditioner that I could store away during the cooler months since I have wonderful breezes that come in through the window I have this in. The piece that goes in the window to hold the exhaust and incoming air tubes is very easy to set in without having to take my window screen out. I also like that this unit takes in fresh air from the outside so there are no weird smells from recycled air inside. The biggest plus is that the vents move up and down and side to side which was an important feature since I have gabled dormer windows and want to make sure the air isn't trapped in the ceiling space above them. My house is also 900 sq ft with a 15 ft ceiling with no dividing walls in between rooms, so to keep the whole house cool, I have a smaller window unit in the kitchen/dining area to join forces with this portable unit. When I want to just keep the living room cool, I close the curtains to the other rooms and it does fine cooling the main area down. Since I have high ceilings the temp doesn't get below 70 degrees, but that is fine for me. The noise level is also pretty low especially compared to my old window unit that rattled and vibrated. ... show more

    • Its quiet, toooooo quiet.
I’ve been using this ZAFRO 16,000 BTU portable AC for a few weeks now, and overall I’m really happy with it. It cools fast and runs surprisingly quiet — way quieter than I expected for something this powerful. I can actually keep it on at night and still sleep fine, which wasn’t true of my last portable AC. Setup took a little patience — it’s a dual-hose system, so getting the window kit in place took about 20+ minutes the first time. Once it was in, though, everything worked smoothly. The hoses are a bit stiff, but that’s minor. The app control is a nice bonus. I can turn it on before I get home or adjust the temp without getting up. The remote works well too. I also like that it doesn’t need constant draining — it evaporates moisture on its own, which saves time. The unit is on the heavy side, but the built-in wheels make it manageable. It cools my 400+ sq ft living room quickly, even on hot afternoons. If I had to nitpick, I’d say the window kit could fit a little better, and the app setup instructions could be clearer.
