I read the directions and filled the tank for the first ice. It wont suck up the ice and says I need to add water. I tried unplugging and plugging it back in, but it just keeps telling me to add water. I have a $100 doorstop now. YAY. Updated 08/15 I sent the unit back yesterday and received a notification that a refund has been issued. I am happy with the customer service and how fast they sent a refund, but I would still rather have ice. I probably won’t order a new one, but I appreciate the fast customer service. ... show more

I really like this it makes the ice fast but it doesn’t seem to make enough for two servings. If you’re using a lot of ice and the ice is very thin so it melts very easily if your drinks not already cold, best thing to do is to put the ice in a zip lock bag, put it in the freezer for later use

The cubes are bullet shaped, the basket is small so you will probably have to empty it twice for an average run. It took me all day to fill a 1 gallon ziplock bag plus 3 quarters of another gallon bag. I did as instructed before using and one of my complaints is that it took additional runs to get rid of the metallic taste plus you can’t leave cubs in the machine because once it has filled the basket it no longer keeps them frozen. This is not my first ice machine! After purchasing my first I found that I always have to have one. I had fixed the ice machine in refrigerator once already and the next time I just did not want to pay again. Anyway I don't believe these are built to last forever but I do enjoy the fact that I can get fresh ice anytime I want. I do like ice! In fact everyone that visits loves it too! There are always many comments and questions. So far I have had no problem with this ice maker, everything is functioning as it should. There are some things I learned after having owned a couple, like don't tip them! If you do, let them sit for a few hours so the refrigerant flows back down where it is supposed to be. I am gentle when I clean it. I buy water to put into mine, but that is because after the first one and the build up from my water, I learned that it was better to not have all that lime build up. Its a pain always buying gallons of water but if you like the fresh ice it may be worth it to you. It does not say you have to, I just prefer it. UPDATE: The ice machine after about a week or less keeps turning off and no ice being made. When it does make ice it hardly enough for 3 glasses of a cold drink at dinner tonight. I am returning I had another ice maker a while back and missed it so bought this one. It does it’s job and will keep it, but I do find it noisy and throws some get out of the fan that my other one did not. I put a hook on the side to keep the spoon so there is more room to make ice. I will update if it dies too soon. All these ice machines unfortunately have a smaller life span than we would like… hopefully this one lasts a few years ... show more

I bought a counter top ice maker because my refrigerator water broken and I would need to replace the whole refrigerator. The ice is shaped like a little cup and melts fast (too fast). I storage them the refrigerator icemaker, but the stick together because they melt so fast. My true opinion is still out on if I'm keeping it but it definitely a nice quick way to get ice where you normally can't. Is it better then others probably not. ... show more

This product is very user-friendly and easy to maintain. I bought it in May 2023, but by August, it stopped functioning properly. Despite the fan blowing and water running, the compressor fails to kick on. The recommended purchase is this unit and extended warranty -- not a bad idea.
