  • Battery door can be tricky. Be patient.
The battery door on the Nikon Z6ii and Z7ii just pops off. It’s intimidating because care should be taken not to break it, but it sort of twists and and pulls out. Once it’s off there is a place in the battery for it. There are several YouTube videos that go over this. Having a back up battery in the field is useful. It’s better to have the extra power supply and not need it than to need it and not have. ... show more

  • Drains battery
Used this on 2 events. Battery drained before I even got 200 shots in. Don’t waste your money.

  • The battery grip works.
I like the feel it fits my hand and the controls work. Battery life is excellent as my Z7 i a battery hog.

  • Shutter Errors (oddly)
I purchased this for my nikon Z7 mark 2. It worked well for 6 months and then I stared having shutter issues where once I pressed the shutter button, the camera would freeze and report a shutter error. I would have to press the shutter release to clear the error but the image would write to the memory card. The issues went away once I removed the grip extender and placed the battery back in the camera. I cleaned the contacts and sprayed compressed air to clean the connections, but the issue persists. I purchased the oem grip extension and have had Zero issues. ... show more

  • Drains battery
I sort of liked the hand grip, however, I find that it drains my batteries way faster than just using them one by one. One battery can make it through one game down to one bar, but when i use the hand grip, the camera dies before the game is over. So, I cannot use it on my Nikon Z6II.

  • Compatibility issues with z7 ii
I keep getting a red error warning that this battery grip is not compatible with my Nikon Z7 ii. The camera works with the batteries individually but not with the grip attached. Super disappointing 😞
