I was refreshing my bedroom and thought this would be just funky enough. Unfortunately without a traditional shade, I found the light to be too bright for my small room (I did try other light bulbs).     • Easy to assemble, unique look, rather harsh direct light.

Assembly of this lamp is simple. The lamp cord is threaded through all the upright pieces, so all that has to be done is to screw the pieces together from the bottom to the top. As each piece is screwed into place, the cord must be pulled down through the bottom. Finally, remove the knurled plastic washer that will hold the lamp "shade" in place, put the shade in place and screw the knurled washer back in place to hold the shade. Finally, screw in the included LED bulb and your lamp is finished. The lamp is turned on and off with a foot switch. There is no remote and no dimming function. The exposed light bulb casts rather a harsh, bright light, but it is plenty bright for reading or lighting a room. A switch other than the foot operated switch would be nice, particularly if you want to use the lamp behind a chair, couch or table. I would also like to see a dimmer function to control the bright, harsh light. Those two things are the reason I am rating four stars, rather than five stars. ... show more

The lamp is tiny, way smaller than the photos lead you to believe. The gold of the “shade” doesn’t match the gold of the base! Lame.
