These slim, motion-activated lights cast bright light over a wide area when they detect the movement of a warm body nearby. The light remains on as long as motion is detected, and shuts off approximately 30 seconds after motion stops. They recharge in under an hour using the provided USB cable connected to a user-supplied power charging source. Mounting is easy, as each light has a magnetic base that will hold firmly to most any (ferrous) metallic surface. Mounting on a non-metallic surface is accomplished by attaching the provided adhesive-backed metal strips to the desired surface, and then attaching the magnetic-backed light to the metal strip. The three-position power switch clicks from Off, to On (continuous), and to On (motion detection mode). I have not tested the battery life in the continuous-on mode, but can attest to experiencing a month or more of daily repeated on-off cycling of both lights in separate installations, all without having yet to recharge either light's battery. While these lights are not weatherproof and therefore not intended for exposed outdoor applications, they would probably provide reliable service in a sheltered installation, such as under an eave or roof overhang, helping illuminate a doorstep or patio entrance. I am so satisfied with this purchase that I will buy another pair of these inexpensive lights for other areas of my home where they will provide guiding light in those dark, frequently but briefly visited areas. ... show more

I bought several sets of these lights. I like them when used in places like closets that I do not enter a ton or my laundry room that is not adequately lit, the charge will last several weeks. But for under the kitchen cabinets, we walk by there so much that you have to charge them all the time every couple of days. Bought this for above my door frame in my shared apartment foyer so I didn’t have to leave my light on the whole time I’m not home but could still see when I needed to unlock my door. Then I bought 8 more for under my kitchen cabinets and in the hallway leading to my front door/living room. It’s the perfect tone of light and awesome brightness and they shut off on their own after so many seconds so they don’t waste energy and I can just walk around my kitchen/hall without having to turn any lights on. Also bought two extra to keep charged for backup that I can just switch out when they start to die and need recharged. That seems to be working well because I always have working lights. I didn’t have electricity at all for 17 months right before I bought these and would just recharge things at work so these would have definitely worked well for that as charging them really doesn’t take that long and they’re small and attach and reattach with a magnet so they’re super easy to swap out and charge. Definitely recommend. Now that I have electricity again I still don’t use the lighting that is permanently installed in my apartment and these light my kitchen/hallway/and foyer fine. Sometimes the motion timer will shut off and you have to move around a little again to get them all to light up again but there is an always on option also and not just auto so if you needed them to stay on consistently that’s an option. ... show more

Hung these under my kitchen cabinets. The amount of light is great, the magnetic attachments work well and have good strength. While I like the fact that they are rechargeable using a micro usb, they die quickly even when not in use. Also, the motion sensor option isn't as sensitive as they need to be when placed under the cabinets and centered, which is a real design issue because, well, that's pretty much what their made for. Installation is simple. Double sided tape. And the brackets are small. Not visible unless you know they are there. Actively looking for a better option (harder than anticipated)... but they work in the short term. ... show more

These are great lights. They are inexpensive. They are rechargeable, they give off bright light and they are magnetic. They also have sensor so when you walk buy they automatically go on or you can hit the switch where it’ll stay on.
