Handheld power salt spreader
I love how I can put salt down so quickly. I thought it would be too heavy to hold and spread once I put the salt in, but it's just fine. The only thing is that I have to fill it several times to finish my property, which isn't that big, but if it's bigger, it might be too heavy.

"IF" Everything is Dry - It Works Pretty Good
This works great if everything is dry. However, if what you put in it gets wet or damp, it borders on useless. The piece in the middle that spins and helps move whatever you have in it is far too small to get the material to the opening. I found myself constantly shaking the spreader. Although not perfect and it does have it's drawbacks, if you keep it dry it works like it should, not great, but pretty good.

Convenient spreader makes fertilizing a breeze!
If you own other Ryobi products and have the battery, this is a great spreader! It makes fertilizing a breeze! The construction is of high quality, and I have not had any trouble with it plugging up.

Doesn’t work and breaks easily. Terrible item.
This spreader doesn’t work. I bought it for spreading salt on my driveway, and also for spreading fertilize and seed for my lawn. On the first use, it hardly spread any salt at all, and it slipped out of my hand and fell maybe 3 feet to the ground. And it cracked open. So on its initial use, it didn’t work, and it broke. I wouldn’t pay $5 for this item, let alone $ 70. The only reason I am giving 1 star is it won’t let you give a zero stars rating.

Lightweight and Seems Durable
As a woman I don’t quite have the strength to lift something heavy to use as a spreader, so I loved this option. I have several other Ryobi tools so I have the battery to use for this already. Keep in mind, it does not come with the battery. This was obviously not an issue for me because I have several already. I think it is the perfect size for me to be able to manage it when it’s full and not be too heavy for me. It helps that it will spread both grass seed and especially my ice melt, evenly for me. I can’t wait to use it!

No battery
Works well, except you'll need to buy a battery which costs approximately $134.

Just don’t 🤦♂️
If I could give this zero I would. Salt kept getting stuck and the trap door which drops the salt wouldn’t open all the way so we maybe were getting 5 grains of salt out at a time. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!!!
