Features

  • Jamaican Cherry Trees produce beautiful, abundant fruits in either red or yellow varieties. These aren't your typical store-bought cherries, however, as Jamaican Cherry Tree fruit is more similar to cranberries, with a musky tasting, soft interior like a fig. This product is a 2pack of either red or yellow Jamaican Cherry Trees. If you would like one of each color, make sure to select the DUO option.
  • Sunlight: Jamaican Cherry Trees thrive in full sun. Ensure the planting location receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Jamaican Cherry Trees are suitable for tropical, subtropical, and Mediterranean climates. They can survive in temperatures above freezing but thrive in warm conditions.
  • Soil: They prefer well-draining, sandy loam or loamy soil with a pH level between 6.0 and 7.0. Planting: The best time to plant is during spring or early summer to allow roots to establish before winter. Method: Dig a hole twice as wide and deep as the root ball, place the tree in the hole, and backfill with a mixture of compost and native soil. Water thoroughly and apply a layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture.
  • Maintain consistent moisture but avoid waterlogging. Deep watering once or twice a week is ideal, depending on weather conditions. Prune during the dormant season (autumn/winter) to remove dead or damaged branches and to shape the tree. Regular pruning helps in maintaining the desired size and promotes healthy growth.
  • Fast Growth: Ideal for gardeners looking for quick results. Aesthetic Appeal: Adds ornamental value to gardens with its attractive canopy and abundant flowers. The Jamaican Cherry Tree is a perennial evergreen with a broad, spreading canopy. It typically grows between 4 to 12 meters (12-38 feet) in height. The tree produces small, white flowers with yellow stamens that bloom year-round in tropical climates.

Description

THIS PRODUCT IS A 2PACK OF EITHER RED OR YELLOW JAMAICAN CHERRY TREES. IF YOU WOULD LIKE ONE OF EACH COLOR, MAKE SURE TO SELECT THE DUO OPTION Jamaican Cherry tree is a relatively easy and rapid grower, especially in hot and dry climates. It looks awesome in the garden with its colorful foliage, and also provides tasty fruit. Even though the tree bears the word cherry in its name, its fruit isn’t anything like cherry and looks more like cranberry in appearance, with red or yellow, soft, and smooth skin. It tastes musky, similar to fig in flavor. The Jamaican Cherry trees are a beautiful sight to behold, especially in the spring when they are fully covered in pink or white blossoms. You can prune it down to one trunk and grow it as a specimen tree or grow it as a shrub in a hedge. Pick a location where the tree can get bright light. Initially, you will have to save the young plant from the harsh afternoon sun, but once it is established, the plant will handle it on its own. It will also do well in part shade. You have to be a little careful about the watering when the plant is young. Make sure the soil is not completely dry. The best method to follow is to water the plant when the topsoil feels a little dry to the touch.

  • Small but vigorous
These things came looking tiny and sad. Gave them a small pot and some water and they thought it was steroids! They're Hulking out. 2 months later, they've grown a few feet.

  • One of two survived
Weak, tiny, and overpriced. I ordered a 2 pack, the bigger of the 2 survived and 7 months later is 22 inch and finally doing good. The other died immediately. Ordered a blue java banana as well that met a quick fate. I realize many ppl don't care well for plants but I'm an experienced gardener and I feel like these were too young and weak for shipping. ... show more

  • Small and sickly Small and sickly
Very disappointed. They look nothing like the photo. I ordered several plants and because they are so small, I wasn’t sure what plant was what. No labeling on any plants except the roses. They are so small and look very sickly. Not sure if they will survive. I wouldn’t order from this business again. ... show more
