  • might work for you
The quality was good, but the "concept" did NOT work for me with an uneven drive/sidewalk.

  • A shovel plow- works!
We purchased this for the Great Grandma who doesn’t want to be called great grandma. So we call her GG. It really hasn’t snowed since we gave it to her between Christmas and New Year’s for her birthday. Anyway, she hasn’t had it yet, but I did. We got a little over 2” and I stopped and found the shovel plow easiest to use between it, an old grain shovel and a garden shovel. You can make large passes or smaller ones, depending on your pushing capacity. It was a good purchase after the initial sticker shock. I was also a little disappointed with my middle son (they’re all adults), who left me to assembled it by myself. That is all. ... show more

  • NOT fun to put together AT ALL, but works pretty well…
This was an absolute nightmare to put together! You’re given a one page sheet of paper that has illustrated instructions on one side that are meant to show you how to assemble this, but with as few words as possible, as well as some VERY tiny representations of which screws, nuts and bolts go with which piece, which is vague at best. On the other side is a parts list with pictures of each piece and type of hardware and the corresponding letters they’re given, however there are no labels on the individual pieces or bags of hardware…you get to figure that out yourself. That's not super complicated on its face, but then combine that with a complete failure to mention what tools you need to assemble it all! That's all fine and good until you realize that almost all of the hardware involved cannot be put together with a screwdriver - it’s mostly nuts and bolts, and the bolts have completely flat heads. The nuts can only be screwed on by hand for the first few turns, after which they will not budge! This wouldn’t be a big deal if you own a socket wrench set, however I do NOT, nor was I told I would need one. My only option was to use two different wrenches at the same time, one to turn the nut and the other to hold the bolt still, over and over and over again. One or the other of the wrenches (or both) constantly slipped off after maybe two turns if I was lucky, which was greatly exacerbated by the fact that this plow shovel and its components are made of thick steel and are VERY heavy!!! My hands literally hurt for days! The frame that came with my plow is not at a 90 degree angle at each corner like it’s shown in the pics, it’s bent so that regardless of which direction you place it, the plow head will only face right or left, it doesn’t plow the snow straight ahead as shown…and that includes both the listing pics AND the pics from other people’s reviews. Thinking I made a mistake somewhere, I took it apart and put it back together every which way possible trying to get it straight, and it’s impossible. Despite all of that ridiculousness, each piece is made of high quality materials and fairly easy to use. It’s not made to use on very light snow, it only works with heavy wet snow, which apparently gives the plow something to sort of stick to as you’re pushing it. If the snow is too light, the plow won’t stay on the ground, it keeps bouncing up and missing whole sections of snow that you have to go back and shovel up, which defeats the purpose. For the heavy stuff, however, it works great, and it’s a lot faster and easier on your back than shoveling! It’s annoying that I’m unable to push the snow straight ahead of me, but not enough to be a dealbreaker. Overall, this is a great option for snow removal…if you ever get it assembled! Consider yourself warned/informed that a socket wrench set is essential, as that would’ve made it a breeze and saved my hands from the several days of pain I encountered! Better yet, have someone who knows what they’re doing and has ALLLLLL the tools put it together for you, lol…in that scenario, I recommend giving this a shot! ... show more

  • Keep your shovel, hope for powder...
The instructions are really not very good. Once you look over the hardware and the three different size holes and count how many of each, you quickly realize what goes where. I grabbed my Phillips #2 and a 1/4 drive impact along with a bunch of metric end wrenches and sockets and had this together in about 20 minutes. Some holes were tight post-powder coat and there could have been more washers. The nuts are all Nylocks and using simple hand tools will take a while. As for the snow, we've had a monster dump last weekend and had as much as three feet in areas. By the time this tool arrived, the snow had gotten warm and started getting heavy and slushy. The plow, being narrower than other tools like it, did a fair job of pushing snow off to the right side as I pushed. Taking a higher stance with the blade elevated allowed me to bite off smaller chunks with more ease. In powder this would be a quick and easy way to clear a walk or driveway but don't chuck your snow shovel. The finer tuning of your snow removal will still require a shovel. Based on my experience with similar tools, I think the price point is high for its utility and, given other options, I'd keep looking. ... show more

  • Great idea, execution isn't perfect, doesn't completely replace the shovel
First, one of the bolts snapped in half during assembly. Makes me think some of the bolts on this should be larger. This is pretty heavy duty, with a really nice enameled finish. There is no blade on this. The metal scraped directly against your driveway - unless you're extra careful with it, or unless there's a layer of ice. It works great for a few inches of fresh snow. It does almost nothing for thicker snow or piles of snow. It pushes the snow off to the side, so each subsequent lap you have to overlap. It takes a little bit of strategy to use a non-adjustable plow that pushes the snow to the side. It's built for shorter people. The handle angle and length aren't adjustable. I'm 6 foot tall, and have to bend over a bit to use it. It's perfect for my wife. It doesn't get the ice at all. Overall I like it, it has the potential to really save the back, but it doesn't completely replace the need for a shovel. ... show more

  • Incomplete hole required drilling
This robust rolling snow plow is constructed from powder-coated steel. Hard plastic tires won’t deflate or become punctured. Cushioned, insulative handle. Handle sections bolt together. One hole in the handle was not completely drilled through so it couldn’t be bolted until my husband completed the job and opened the hole with his power drill. This implement was easily assembled otherwise. Instructions were clear but white lettering on a black background, although stylish, is difficult to read. Assembly took my husband approximately 20 minutes including drilling the incomplete hole. Several common tools were required including a crescent wrench; 1 Philips screwdriver, and 12mm, 13 mm, & 9/16th box end wrenches --- plus a drill to open up the hole. How this little plow works can’t be determined until it snows but I am hopeful: shoveling paths to our rural home’s outbuildings can be onerous at best. In the interim, I rate this rolling snow plow 4 stars, with 1 star deducted for the incompletely drilled hole. ... show more
