  • Great customer service and good product.
I have had my Yarbo for a couple weeks now. The setup was smooth. The hardest part is mapping the work area and figuring out the best way to mark your property. I tend to lose signal because I have a lot of tree on my 6+ acres. The customer support team at Yarbo (Shelley) has been great. They have provided additional tools to help with the few issues i have ran into (mainly mine). They have been very helpful. The yarbo team really want your experience to be a great one! ... show more

  • Powerful Concept, But Snow Blower Performance Falls Short in Real-World Conditions Powerful Concept, But Snow Blower Performance Falls Short in Real-World Conditions
I purchased the Yarbo Robot Lawn Mower Pro and Snow Blower system during the Black Friday 2025 sale for $6,199 ($6,570.94 with tax). The concept is outstanding—a modular, all-season robotic yard system—but my real-world experience, particularly with the snow blower, has been mixed at best. Shipping & Setup The system arrived in five separate boxes (core, snow blower, lawn mower, docking station, and battery). All were well-packaged but very heavy, and they did not arrive on the same day, though everything showed up within about a week. Assembly of the snow blower was straightforward and well-documented. It took me about 40 minutes to get everything put together, including attaching the chute and installing the battery (which arrived about 70% charged). Data Center Installation Challenges This is where things started to go sideways. Yarbo recommends installing the data center at the highest point on your property—typically your roof. My roof is over 40 feet high, and I couldn’t find a single installer (satellite, antenna, or roofer) willing to do the job. I even tried Yarbo’s installer network, but the only person in my area never responded to my emails. As a last resort, Yarbo suggested mounting the unit on the ground using extension poles. Fortunately, I had a clear view of the sky in one area, and that setup worked. I consistently get 16–28 satellites, which is within their recommended range. Still, the lack of accessible installation support is a major gap for a product at this price point. Mapping & Controls Mapping the work area was more frustrating than expected. You can use either a smartphone app or the game-style controller, but both felt unintuitive. The directional controls often felt reversed, and it took much longer than it should have to map a simple driveway. If you’re not used to gaming-style controls, expect a learning curve. Snow Blower Performance (Real-World Testing) I’ve now used Yarbo across multiple storms, including: • Heavy snowfalls • Wet, heavy snow • Snow that froze into ice • Light, powdery snow Here’s the bottom line: • Powdery snow: Performs well (see video) • Wet or icy snow: Performs poorly On straight paths with snow under about six inches, Yarbo generally does fine. But during turns—especially three-point or zero-turn maneuvers—it frequently gets stuck. This happened across multiple storms. In wet and icy conditions, performance dropped significantly. It got stuck so often that I had to send it back to the dock and finish the job manually with a shovel. At that point, the “autonomous” claim starts to break down. Treads & Traction Tradeoffs The unit ships with summer treads, but I switched to the studded treads for better grip on pavement. They do help with traction—but they also tear up grass. Because of where I placed my docking station, Yarbo had to cross grass to reach the driveway, which caused damage to my lawn. I had to move the docking station to a location just off my driveway to save my grass. Charging & Docking Issues Docking station placement is critical—and I learned that the hard way. During one storm, Yarbo completed about half the job, returned to charge, then couldn’t make it back to the work area once the snow got deeper. I had to physically push it to get it moving again, and when it couldn’t return to the dock, I plugged it in manually. Charging via outlet is extremely slow—about 1% every 30 minutes—even on a 220V outlet. That’s not practical in the middle of a storm. Surface Damage One unexpected issue: while trying to free itself when stuck, Yarbo scratched my asphalt driveway in multiple places. This appears to be caused by the tracks spinning under load, especially with the studded treads. Final Thoughts (So Far) As a snow blower, this system has been disappointing. It performs well in ideal conditions (light, powdery snow), but struggles in the exact conditions where a snow blower matters most—wet, heavy, and icy snow. The concept is excellent, and there’s clearly a lot of engineering behind this system. But right now, it feels like the technology hasn’t fully caught up to real-world conditions. What’s Next I have not yet tested the lawn mower module due to the winter season. I’m hopeful that it performs better and will update this review midway through the mowing season. Summary Pros: • Innovative modular design • Excellent packaging and build quality • Good performance in light, powdery snow • Ground-mounted RTK setup can work if properly placed Cons: • Major installation challenges (data center) • Poor performance in wet and icy snow • Frequently gets stuck during turns • Not truly autonomous in real-world conditions • Extremely slow plug-in charging • Can damage driveway and lawn depending on setup Bottom Line Great idea, but the snow blower module isn’t ready for prime time—especially if you deal with wet or icy snow. I’m hoping the lawn mower performs better, because right now, this system hasn’t lived up to expectations. ... show more

  • I don't have to mow
I got this because I hate taking the time to mow. It was great to be doing something else while this was out mowing the lawn. Got the snowblower hoping to have the same results in winter. Setup takes a bit, mapping is a bit time consuming, but once it is done then schedule the work and away it goes. Does come in several packages ... show more

  • The most regrettable purchase I've ever made!
Fighting Yarbo burned so much of my time! I figured out that I'll SAVE TIME AND FRUSTRATION by manually mowing and snowblowing while Yarbo sits idle. Yarbo had issue after issue after issue, which means I can't trust it and have to constantly interrupt my day to go check on it, troubleshoot, and make repairs... Then, when it breaks and needs replacement parts, which happens often in my experience, I'm without the machine for weeks. Grass does stop growing, and snow doesn't stop falling just because the machine is down. As a professional design engineer of +20 years... my PROFESSIONAL OPINION is that the hardware is decent and has hope, but the firmware is very immature and still makes many unintelligent decisions. Object avoidance is a joke and causes property damage. Even shadows confuse Yarbo! I've had mine spin for hours trying to escape an invisible force field, leaving the lawn destroyed in that spot. The most glaring, unforgivable issue for me is that it drives outside the programmed boundaries! That's a pretty big deal when you're mowing next to a pond or a terraced drop-off! Many people in the Yarbo community are TRIGGERED into an outrage of personal insults when you bring up issues. Seriously, I've never had a more terrible community support experience. I was getting gaslighted and TROLLED simply because I was tactfully pointing out flaws. When I bring to light that Yarbo drives outside the boundaries, they (and even Yarbo's support) tell me to just set up no-go zones. When I try to explain that the boundaries void the need for no-go zones, I have many people jump in and personally insult me! It wasn't just me. I had a growing list of other disgruntled customers who reached out to me, and indicated they were trolled and gaslighted as well when they shared their grievances. Yarbo Support: So many times have I caught them GUESSING their way through my support tickets. I wish I were exaggerating here, but I'm not. It's like I'm talking to a teenager with no real -world experience. The things they tell me are often factually incorrect. They CONFIDENTLY make incorrect statements, and then when I report the problem again a few weeks later, and talk to a different support tech, their answer CONFIDENTLY flip-flops! This entire 3-year journey (I was a Kickstarter backer) with Yarbo has been filled with so much disappointment and aggravation. I just sold my unit for a fraction of what I bought it for after it sat on the Marketplace for 6 months with very little interest. LAWN MOWING: The cut was disappointing, leaving a ton of blades still standing. If you cut it every 3 days, I guess it would look decent, but I never got mine working consistently long enough before having an issue and having downtime. It also overheats while mowing in the summer, which stops the mowing session! SNOWBLOWING: Does a decent job if the snow isn't wet, BUT... that's only if it has traction, which mine never did. I used the snow tracks with the supplied metal studs, and it wouldn't get traction until I literally added 200lbs to the unit! Also, the studs PERMANENTLY scratched my driveway EVERYWHERE! Lastly, I've seen several questionable sales tactics: 1.) Overall, this thing is over-advertised to do tasks it can barely sometimes do. 2.) They advertise things that simply don't work yet, like tow-mode. They make it appear as if it's autonomous, but it must be manually controlled, which makes it mostly worthless. Support has been telling me for over a year that it'll be here in a couple of months. Well, why did I see this in an advertisement a full year prior to my initial questions to support!? 3.) Ever wonder why there are so many duplicates of the same Yarbo product for sale here on Amazon? I believe that they use this as a technique to manipulate YOU via the review system. Once one listing gets more than a few negative reviews, they take it down and start over with a new listing. ... show more
