  • The most regrettable purchase I've ever made!
Fighting Yarbo burned so much of my time! I figured out that I'll SAVE TIME AND FRUSTRATION by manually mowing and snowblowing while Yarbo sits idle. Yarbo had issue after issue after issue, which means I can't trust it and have to constantly interrupt my day to go check on it, troubleshoot, and make repairs... Then, when it breaks and needs replacement parts, which happens often in my experience, I'm without the machine for weeks. Grass does stop growing, and snow doesn't stop falling just because the machine is down. As a professional design engineer of +20 years... my PROFESSIONAL OPINION is that the hardware is decent and has hope, but the firmware is very immature and still makes many unintelligent decisions. Object avoidance is a joke and causes property damage. Even shadows confuse Yarbo! I've had mine spin for hours trying to escape an invisible force field, leaving the lawn destroyed in that spot. The most glaring, unforgivable issue for me is that it drives outside the programmed boundaries! That's a pretty big deal when you're mowing next to a pond or a terraced drop-off! Many people in the Yarbo community are TRIGGERED into an outrage of personal insults when you bring up issues. Seriously, I've never had a more terrible community support experience. I was getting gaslighted and TROLLED simply because I was tactfully pointing out flaws. When I bring to light that Yarbo drives outside the boundaries, they (and even Yarbo's support) tell me to just set up no-go zones. When I try to explain that the boundaries void the need for no-go zones, I had many people jump in and personally insult me! It wasn't just me. I had a growing list of other disgruntled customers who reached out to me, and indicated they were trolled and gaslighted as well when they shared their grievances. Yarbo Support: So many times have I caught them GUESSING their way through my support tickets. I wish I were exaggerating here, but I'm not. It's like I'm talking to a teenager with no real -world experience. The things they tell me are often factually incorrect. They CONFIDENTLY make incorrect statements, and then when I report the problem again a few weeks later, and talk to a different support tech, their answer CONFIDENTLY flip-flops! This entire 3-year journey (I was a Kickstarter backer) with Yarbo has been filled with so much disappointment and aggravation. I just sold my unit for a fraction of what I bought it for after it sat on the Marketplace for 6 months with very little interest. LAWN MOWING: The cut was disappointing, leaving a ton of blades still standing. If you cut it every 3 days, I guess it would look decent, but I never got mine working consistently long enough before having an issue and having downtime. It also overheats while mowing in the summer, which stops the mowing session! SNOWBLOWING: Does a decent job if the snow isn't wet, BUT... that's only if it has traction, which mine never did. I used the snow tracks with the supplied metal studs, and it wouldn't get traction until I literally added 200lbs to the unit! Also, the studs PERMANENTLY scratched my driveway EVERYWHERE! Lastly, I've seen several questionable sales tactics: 1.) Overall, this thing is over-advertised to do tasks it can barely sometimes do. 2.) They advertise things that simply don't work yet, like tow-mode. They make it appear as if it's autonomous, but it must be manually controlled, which makes it mostly worthless. Support has been telling me for over a year that it'll be here in a couple of months. Well, why did I see this in an advertisement a full year prior to my initial questions to support!? 3.) Ever wonder why there are so many duplicates of the same Yarbo product for sale here on Amazon? I believe that they use this as a technique to manipulate YOU via review system. Once one listing gets more than a few negative reviews, they take it down and start over with a new listing. ... show more
