  • Great lock and plays well with Home Assistant
Color: Black Suede Size: Keypad Style: No Key Configuration: Keypad
Works great and is a big step up from the earlier model (which often didn't play well with Home Assistant and often broadcasts false or out-of-date information such as open/close/jammed). This version however, was just as easy to install and works flawlessly with Home Assistant. The emergency-use battery contacts (in case the internal batteries die) is a nice touch. It just works :) Also, battery life is great...I'm still on the first set months later. The only issue is the distance from the Z-Wave--the hub must be relatively close by. Even though Z-wave is a mesh network, this device doesn't use Z-Wave LR, and apparently doesn't allow for multiple 'hops.' I learned the hard (expensive) way, this is common for Z-Wave smart locks and not specific to the Yale. ... show more

  • The Best Lock, Hands Down
Color: Satin Nickel Size: Keypad Style: With Key Configuration: Keypad
This is a fabulous lock. So happy I purchased it over hall others. Works with my phone, finger print or numerical code. I can even set up individual codes for family members. This is the real deal.

  • Only compatible with doors that open out to the left / in to the right.
Color: Satin Nickel Size: Keypad Style: With Key Configuration: Keypad
THIS WILL ONLY WORK FOR 1 DOOR LOCK ORIENTATION. THE KEYPAD HAS TO BE ON RIGHT, THE THUMBWHEEL HAS TO BE ON THE LEFT. There is nowhere in the description (or on Yale's website) that specified this, or guides you to check before you buy. Installation was simple, but lock is no good to me.

  • It works and is z-wave compatible
Color: Black Suede Size: Keypad Style: With Key Configuration: Keypad
It has been working well for me for the first week. Took about 90minutes for me to install, but only because I had to make some modifications to my door, due to my deadbolt receiving hole not being well aligned. This caused it to not extend fully at first. Once I widened the hole so that it all was a smooth action, it worked great! It would have probably been a 30-45minute install slowly and carefully following the directions if it weren't for that. You could probably do it in 15 or less if you are familiar with installing locks or door knobs and winged it. ... show more

  • Where has this been my whole life?
Color: Black Suede Size: Keypad Style: With Key Configuration: Keypad
This lock has totally changed my life. Got it to avoid giving my 11 yr old keys to lose. Fingerprint works instantly and every time. I attached it to a Hubitat for internet access using z-wave. Installed easily, looks great, and doesn't go through batteries like the wifi version. Not often you get exactly what you were looking for. This is a rare exception. ... show more

  • It works with a small hiccup
Color: Black Suede Size: Keypad Style: With Key Configuration: Keypad

  • Incredibly easy to set up!!
Color: Satin Nickel Size: Keypad Style: With Key Configuration: Keypad
We originally bought another brand like this lock and had such issues we returned it & got this Yale lock. It was only different to install due to our door, but setting up was so simple! It’s been so easy to use. Will be buying this brand from now on.

  • Yale Committing to Anti-Consumer Practices
Color: Satin Nickel Size: Keypad Style: With Key Configuration: Keypad
This device was ALMOST what I wanted. The one thing that really holds it back is the anti-consumer practices of Yale/August. This is a smart lock. Absolute privacy and 100% offline control is mandatory for all smart locks (and other smart-home devices for that matter). This one ALMOST does this. The lock itself has either bluetooth, Z-wave, or Wifi control. Z-wave is inherently offline, wifi connectivity doesn't necessarily mean it will connect to the internet, so it's also offline, and the app controls to the lock over bluetooth. Great! BUT the issue comes during the setup process. You need to download the app, no problem there necessarily. The issue is that during the setup process, you're forced to create an account and the app demands to know the serial number of the lock and then it attempts to verify the serial number with Yale servers on the internet. Usually when companies demand to "verify" your device's serial number over the internet, it means they will use that process to lock out users from using their device (no pun intended) if they decide to. This, and CREATING AN ACCOUNT FOR A LOCK is where the anti-consumer practices lie. I should not have to ask permission from Yale to use the lock that I bought. Additionally, during other steps of the setup process, it requires internet access as well. For what? We don't know. What are they storing on their servers about you and your lock? We have no idea. I'm sure Yale would suggest it's for your benefit, but there's no good reason that the app needs any internet connectivity at all. The app connects to your lock with bluetooth to control it, so there's no good reason it shouldn't do the setup over bluetooth as well. If Yale ever goes out of business or they decide to stop supporting this lock, and you need to reset your lock, you're SOL. That app forces you to connect to their servers over the internet. Your lock would be a useless brick on your door. This is a digital time-bomb. Also, my lock had poor quality control and the labels on the buttons were misplaced. Another bad sign. ... show more
