  • Here are some pros and cons
Color: One Color Size: 52x48x6.5"
I bought this for a 2014 Subaru Outback moving equipment back from multiple 4 hour drives on the highway. It was sturdy and worked as I had expected. One of the nice features of the basket is the ability easily remove it. While it does look nice on the car, it can reduce your mpg so you might want to take it off. There are four mountings that attach to the roof rails. Each mounting has two bolts with one of the bolts having a "T" end. This means that to remove the mounting you can just loosen one bolt only and simply turn the "T" end of the bolt to align with the slot/hole. You never have to completely unscrew the bolts from the mountings. This makes it easy to take off and put back on and makes it so you never should lose the bolt since it is still screw in. One con about this cargo basket is the knobs on the bolts are rather close to the side of the mounting. This makes it hard to get a real good turn on the bolt (your fingers will get pinched on the side of the mounting if you do). Had they put the bolt just a bit further away it would make taking off and putting the cargo basket on much easier (and less painful on the fingers). Overall I am satisfied with how it performed. ... show more

  • Sturdy, but if it comes bent don't ask your teen for help.
Color: One Color Size: 52x48x6.5"
The rack seems sturdy. No issues with flimsy material. That's kind if why it didn't get five stars. Why? Well it got bent during shipping. It comes in two halves. To put it together I had to enlist the help of my 15 year old. I had to pull him from his video game of fortnite. So picture this: I'm in my dirt driveway try to use wood boards to leverage the intersecting metal pipes together while my son tells me he would have saved the video world had it not been for this rude interruption. After I gave him a lecture with my knife hand he shut up. Finally got the rack together with a 2 x 4 and a ratcheting cargo strap. It looks good and wind noise is minimal. The teenager noise on the other hand is moderate, but easy to ignore. Love the rack. ... show more

  • Good quality. Easy to install. But more about appearance than function.
Color: One Color Size: 52x48x6.5"
Easy install. I did it in about 15 minutes in the dark. Nice to have, but I'd say it's really more of an appearance upgrade than a functional one. How often do you really want to carry something on the roof of your car that you don't mind getting wet or dirty? I bought a bag (Samsonite from Costco) to keep stuff dry and it works great, but technically I didn't really need the basket to use it. I could have just attached it to the factory roof rack. Regardless, it's well built and easy to install, so if you really think you'll use it, go for it But I've used it exactly twice this summer; once out of necessity, and a second time just because. I mean, if you're buying the MegaWarrior, you already have a big vehicle. 90% of the time, whatever you are carrying can just as easily go inside. I prefer it to the enclosed style carriers because it looks cooler, but that's about it. ... show more

  • Formerly great company bought by China
Color: One Color Size: 52x48x6.5"
When the Chinese company bought Yakima, they of course fired off the great and dedicated employee workforce in disgrace. Keep that in mind when you buy a Yakima product. It's not what it used to be. Consider Thule as an alternative. I bought the basket steeply discounted as Used. I swallowed my activist pride (I did wipe off the Yakima logo from the faring with acetone, HA). I added the extension to make it over 6 feet long. Still it's rated for just 130lbs. which ain't industry leading. It gets the job done for me. Beware- your MPG will markedly drop down the toilet with this sail on your roof. Good news is it comes off easily, and goes on just when needed. ... show more

  • A total life saver!
Color: One Color Size: 52x48x6.5"
Drove 2,000 miles with this rack. Not only is it sturdy and very minimal wind noise, it’s so easy to assemble and attach to existing cross bars. I strapped a waterproof cargo bag to the rack and it fit nicely in the basket allowing for many different tie down points. Never felt worried at all during the drive. If looking for peace of mind and a quality product, I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Looks great works awsome lots other accessories for it
Color: One Color Size: 52x48x6.5"
It's a good product love that it's sturdy and looks awsome on my 4 runner, makes alot more wind noise than I actually like collects lots of bugs on the deflector, and don't do too great when driving in high wind areas, I also notice a little decrease in milage but over all very good product does what it's made for so over all I do like it and would recommend it awesomeness ... show more

  • Rusts a bit. Otherwise great.
Color: One Color Size: 52x48x6.5"
The rack has been on my car and gets a lot of use every Spring, Summer, and Fall since 2015. I remove the rack in the Winter as there is no way to remove snow and ice from underneath it on a Subaru Outback, and it is illegal to drive here with snow and ice on your roof. The rack performs well for me and hauls a lot of lumber, but if you scratch it, the rack does rust. It also rusts a bit at the tube to tube connection joints. ... show more

  • Fits Ford Expedition 2007 Perfectly! Has great mounts to add to it!!!
Color: One Color Size: 52x48x6.5"
Fits Ford Expedition 2007 Perfectly! Metal and paint were superbly done. Great Add-on accessories. Can easily hold a few hundred pounds spread out. No rust at all. I bought the extension too along with the hi-lift jack mount, shovel mount and light mounts. All work great. Fully put together the rack goes from the rear of the car and stops just before the sunroof. I put it together myself on the grass (so it would scratch up on the concrete) and then lifted it myself and scooted it on the top with towels as cushions until I got it placed correctly. From start to finish I think it took me about 3 hours to put up (took about 30 minutes just to unpack and sort out). All went well and looks great. I get a lot of compliments as I leave it up year round. So far so good, very impressed with all the extra mounts. They even have a spare tire mount. ... show more
