Don’t pay attention to the other reviews saying this isn’t an espresso machine, it’s on them if they think tampering grounds into a locked handle is how you make drip coffee thats on them, and it is pressurized. If you tamper it enough, use the right amount as suggested, and just use ground espresso, you will get crema as you can in others review videos. If your shot is coming out too fast, use a finer ground or compact your espresso more before locking it in. Practice makes perfect, and just go by your own taste, this machine is great for beginners. The only thing I didn’t like is that it naturally steams to kids temp between 120-140 degrees, though always you can steam more afterwards. This is my 2nd Yabano..& yes, you might ask why I bought another when the 1st one failed (the frother quit working). I have VERY limited counter space. After reviewing small Espresso makers & reading all the reviews & most importantly the prices I decided to go with another Yabano. I had bought the Osurion Protection plan so it was an even trade. I did notice the new pamphlet was updated (the hold one was a hilarious Japanese translation!). I previously lived in a hard water area & weekly de-limed the unit. Will do the same here & I strongly advise doing this. I also blow the vinegar thru the frother. It's amazing how many coffee grinds come out. I do not use the grind suggested. I use the first grind in Espresso mode where I buy my beans. Anything heavier does not make a good strong cup. It's very hard to get the funnel in the first few times. This will be easier as the gasket relaxes somewhat. Hopefully this unit will last but bought another Osurion Protection plan in case of failure. Great Espresso make for the price. Also, I froth the cream first & then immediately switch to coffee mode so both are ready when finished. ... show more

Given it's price point I wasn't expecting too much from this, but it's worked pretty well. It's not the best espresso ever, but it's serviceable and has saved me some money since now I can make the Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso that I love so much from Starbucks right in my own home. Setup was pretty easy, though I have had a few issues turning the handle of the cup that holds the ground beans. It's pretty hard to turn and at first I thought I might break it, but I guess it's just a tight fit. Otherwise I've had no issues. Like other reviewers mentioned, I do wish that it would turn off by itself. I do feel that the grind of the beans is probably the most important thing if you want a good outcome. I bought the blonde espresso beans from Starbucks and they asked me how I wanted it ground and suggested an "espresso grind." Unfortunately that turned out to be a powdery consistency that is too fine for this machine. It works, but it's a little more bitter than I would like. So definitely go with the medium grind that the instructions suggest. All-in-all I'd say that if you're looking for an entry level machine this is a good start. It won't be just like the brew at a coffee shop, but it's not too bad for less than $50. ... show more

I received a 40 dollar gift card for Amazon and after spending the last week on vet bills for two different dogs I wanted to buy something for myself. Fall is coming and I wanted to be able to make my own lattes at home. I found this expresso maker that was within my budget and I loved the color to fit with the aesthetic of my kitchen. I also love that it’s small and can be stored away easily when not in use. I received it last night and put it to work this morning. It was easy to use and comes with all the tools needed. The scooper with the flat end to push the expresso down. the little pot with the guards on the side for the finished expresso that keeps it from making a mess when making, the little cup to put the expresso in has a clip so when you are dumping out the used expresso it keeps the cup from falling out. The drip tray is easily removable to rinse off if you spill on it like I did. And it has a milk frothing tool that can be folded out or in, I did not use this feature yet but it’s a nice addition. The rubber comes off for easy cleaning. I just poured the water in, added the expresso and turned it on. Was able to make my drink in just a few minutes! For less then 40.00, this machine does beyond what was expected! I will need it for the many restless nights keeping my dogs healthy, and the 12 hour work shifts to pay these vet bills. 🤪 ... show more

I have been using this little machine for 8 months and love it. It is very compact and inexpensive, yet makes a great cup of coffee. I do not use the steaming wand as I found the result a bit watery, which was probably my fault. Instead I heat the milk in a small pitcher and froth it with one of those inexpensive battery op frothers. Pour the coffee and frothed milk together in a stream into the cup and you have a barista quality cup. ... show more

I’m a barista and decided having free coffee at work wasn’t enough for me. I bought this machine on a budget and wasn’t expecting AMAZING espresso, but it still didn’t really hit the spot for me. I realized after buying that it’s 3.5 bar, which measures the pressure the espresso is made with. Coffeehouse quality espresso is usually 15-20 bar, so this machine comparatively makes more watery espresso with no crema. The steamer also takes a while to heat up your milk and offers little precision, so you almost always end up with a lot of foam even if that’s not the goal. The machine works as advertised and after some trial and error is easy to work. I’ll probably be returning and investing a bit more in a higher bar machine, but if you’re not picky and just want some cheap and quick espresso I’d say this machine works well enough. ... show more
