The product unboxing is fun, along with the videos you follow for setup and instruction. In fact, I thought it was all self explanatory, but I found out I would’ve missed the biting part had I not watched. The brush head that comes with this is for someone that has a more developed jawline. Due to my smaller stature, and teeth setting closer on the bottom, the M size was uncomfortably large. Now; I did attempt using it when I first got it, and was able to get the idea on my top teeth. The brushes had great coverage, my teeth felt cleaner than they do after some brushings, and it was very quick and easy. Considering the expense of the brush, I was hesitant to purchase the smaller brush head and did reach out to the company before posting a review. I wanted to be fair. They were quick to respond and offer solutions right away. So I am very pleased with the customer service they are willing to provide. I look forward to the S brush head I should receive bc I truly want to love this brush after the experience of trying it and feeli n results despite discomfort. ... show more

  • Stopped working
Sucks. It stopped working after the third time. The company was great and they took it back. But the product itself is not good.

  • Review: 8 months in [ND][Adult]
Dental care isn’t easy for me. As a kid my teeth were sensitive to hot and cold (Mint toothpaste too). I had stains and etching left by cement post-braces that electric toothbrushes and whitening strips couldn’t fix. I couldn’t afford regular dentist trips after college and was usually too tired to do more than a Closys rinse before bed. +10 years and my teeth were more sensitive to cold or very hot. Five years ago I had chipped a molar. I knew the dentist fees that would happen when I start losing my teeth. That was very real possibility since my dad had dentures by 50. I saw the CES articles about the Y brush and thought “well I have at least that much time to brush my teeth”. Might as well invest as much as any of the ‘smart’ toothbrushes to get rows of teeth clean in one pass. I have had my Y Brush since February. I have a Base start and usually do two cycles on the top and bottom so I get the fronts and backs. Things I love- the Y Brush will pulse twice and blink the On light when it cycles. I won’t space out to lose track of which teeth I was brushing. I am done with brushing, cleanup and mouthrinse in under three minutes. Its helped with my sensitivity and loose teeth. It is easy to care for: I take off the brush to wipe off the handle. The brush goes in a mug with some peroxide mouth rinse overnight. The flexibility of the brush plate allows a floss pick to remove large bits that don’t rinse off. I replaced the brush head in August, and recharged for the first time in September. What I am a little surprised by: the replacement M size is a little bigger than the original. I don’t have as much room to move it around on my bottom teeth. After a month it’s loosening up enough to move it around more like the original head. Baking soda or salt toothpastes like Himalaya are too harsh to use often- it was making my teeth more sensitive again. I prefer gel toothpastes. I think I will get the paste reducer cap to make things easier on myself. It is odd that one isn’t included with all base models of the Y brush to make a better user experience. Tips: Watch the videos to see how to move the Y Brush around- lightly tapping it into your teeth rather than biting it and moving from one side of the mouth to the opposite. Not all the YouTube tutorials show that and it is the most important advice to get a good cleaning (“Tutorial: How to brush your teeth with your Y-Brush?”). Always switch to off before removing the Y Brush and turning it over to do your last half of your teeth. I think going top to bottom works to be less drippy- but drips usually will only happen if you use too much toothpaste. Around a teaspoon is plenty! ... show more

  • Quick and easy tooth brushing experience
I've found the Y-brush is a quick and easy way to brush your teeth, and works well as advertised. My teeth seem and feel clean after using it (I run it for about 20 sec. each for my upper and lower teeth). It's easy to keep clean with a simple rinse after using it. I do augment it with a regular toothbrush once a day to massage my gums. ... show more

  • Wastes time and toothpaste
This product was enticing as it promised the same cleaning in a fraction of the time. I tried it for a month before going back to my regular electric toothbrush. With the mouthpiece being much larger than a normal toothbrush head, I used like three times as much toothpaste. While using it, it has a different mouth feel I couldn't get used to. The biting motion is interesting. It does save time with the actual brushing, but I spent extra time cleaning the toothpaste out of the mouthpiece. It can be tricky to get the paste out of the many brushes at different angles. I spent about the same amount of total time as with a regular toothbrush. And it needs to be regularly soaked in mouthwash. It just adds an extra thing you need to do to prolong the life of the mouthpiece. They recommend replacing the mouthpiece every few months. They are about two-thirds the cost of the whole product. It is not economically feasible. ... show more

  • Worth it for a little while
I liked the ease of this as an adult late diagnosed adhder who has always struggled with dental hygiene consistency. Its great for those low energy days where I can take a a minute to pop this in my mouth, then follow up with tongue scraping and a mouthwash. It cleans your teeth just fine, and the bristles aren't too hard. It would be very easy to travel with if not for a certain flaw. The two things I have is that there is no travel case for the brushes, which is inconvenient unless you want to pay for the whole package ( a big commitment in my opinion). Also for some reason after only maybe 8 uses, the brush no linger securely attaches to the base. So I have to hold it together to brush now. I cant physically see a difference as to why its less secure, but it definitely decreases the ease of the product to have to keep the brush from falling out of the vibration part. ... show more
