Here's my look at it: This toothbrush is for lazy people who just don't like morning routines. Powered toothbrushes clean so much better compared to manual ones! This one has so much power my gums bled at the beginning. What I like: - long handle, can reach places you wouldn't reach with short toothbrush - timer that shows how long do you have to brush for - battery lasts (took it on a trip with no charger, 1 week daily use - no problem, can probably last even longer) - changing this battery is possible - bottom unscrews, no glue/adhesive/buy a new unit bs! - thank you, Braun engineers - relatively impact resistant. I dropped it 3 times on a hard tile floor, and it survived the fall. You shouldn't test it, because it depends which way it falls and on what surface, but mine is fine. - has an app. This app allows you to track what teeth exactly you have brushed, but I found it excessive, while it is a 'wow' technology for someone who are crazily obsessed with oral hygiene, I am just brushing without it now. Which one to pick? Honestly, I'd go with io7 if you don't care about bells and whistles, especially if the price is tasty. If it costs around $200, go with this one. What I don't like: - I wish manufacturer let me position toothbrush vertically in the case (make a small indentation for it to stand), instead of dismantling it every time when I travel - heads for it are kinda expensive - can be expensive, not a regular dollar store purchase TLDR; Hi-end electric toothbrush for lazy people who would want a quality teeth cleaning with some of the features that I found excessive, but otherwise built robust and does its job well.

First, let’s talk brushing performance. Both models use Oral-B's "magnetic iO technology," which combines oscillating-rotating and micro-vibrations for an experience that feels more like ultrasonic brushing than the older Oral-B series. After each session, I’m left with that fresh-from-the-dentist smoothness, and yes, both models deliver equally in that department. If the actual brushing is what matters most to you, the Series 6 holds up well. But once you start looking at the extras, the Series 9 really starts to shine. Let's talk about the charging setup. The Series 6 has a basic charger—functional, but nothing to write home about. In contrast, the Series 9’s charger feels like it could double as a paperweight in a windstorm; it’s sturdy and, dare I say, elegant. I actually purchased the io 9 series on Amazon almost a month ago. I'm not happy I purchased it day's before it went on sale. It's whatever.. Honestly I have to say this toothbrush is absolutely no joke and worth every dollar I paid. The io series is great I went with the io9 series because it comes with 4 brush heads that's good for around a year or more depending on how you use them . Also the lcd screen Honestly not necessary but I love it.. Most important the performance. This toothbrush cleans better than my dentist has ... My teeth get whiter on every use even while I'm using mouth freshener paste. I can only imagine if I try out some heavy grit whitner paste. Also I'm using it on daily clean not the highest level. It's an amazing toothbrush. If the battery dies it has a 2 year warranty or you can just buy a better 14500 battery Oral-B built this unit to be easy to service. As far as mold building up that's not happening with me. I use warm water to rinse out the brush head and main unit. I almost didn't purchase this because of people talking about mold build up! Smh . Honestly rinse it off as you would any tooth brush and dry it off and also let it air out & charge in a dry area. Please do not stick sharp things like picks in the top of the brush handle. There is a rubber seal that protects water from getting into the electronics and if you poke at it black stuff will come out because the seal is made out of black rubber! I will update this review if there are any issue's. If this is all your seeing know I'm a very happy customer and it's working 💪! I do not like I paid much more than the current sale price is but it's whatever...

This toothbrush is very strong, works great, and the colored LED band to show you when you're using too much or not enough pressure is very useful. The only complaint I have so far is that the charging travel case MUST be plugged in to work. There is no battery in the case like there is with Panasonic. That was a huge disappointment to me after being so used to being able to take a fully charged Panasonic case and get a good week or two out of my toothbrush without needing to plug anything in. The other issue is my Panasonic case could charge with any USB (used a standard micro-USB port), so I could use an existing USB cable. This case uses a proprietary charger port, so I have to take an extra bulky charger with me too. It almost would take less space to just travel with the compact "normal" charger and a thin case for the brush. The case in general has a cheap feel to it. Don't buy this for the fairly poor excuse for a charging travel case. Aside from that, it's a great, if a little pricey, toothbrush.

I've been using an electric toothbrush for many years and I'm not talking about the drugstore cheapo versions (although I've tried those as well). I typically go for top of the line in almost anything I buy because I really believe you get what you pay for. With some things you can cut corners, but when it comes to my health or my teeth, that's not the time to make the cut. The most I've spent on an electric toothbrush in the past was around $180 for the Sonicare Diamondclean. It lasted me for many years, so if you break down the price over years, it wasn't all that expensive on an annual basis. Besides, we have spent that much going out to dinner at a really nice restaurant (that's how I typically justify the price of more "costly" items)! The Sonicare recently started acting up with it's brushing performance and the power button was getting hard to press, so I decided to replace it. I was satisfied with it's performance over the years, but wanted to try a round brush head this time and Oral B is the leader in that category. There are so many options with Oral B so I had to do a lot of research, starting at the top, of course. I was skeptical about the hefty price tag for the IO9, so I didn't immediately opt for the best of the best. I read many reviews and watched several videos for the IO, Genius, and Pro lines before finally deciding to just bite the bullet and go for it! The main feature I wanted with the IO9 that the others don't have is the 3D AI tracking. I have been getting really lazy with my brushing - walking around the house doing other things and really not paying attention to how effectively or how long I was brushing each area of my mouth. Yes, my Sonicare had a quadrant timer, but it didn't track how much time and effort was spent on all the zones. The IO9 tracks every surface of your teeth - inside, outside, chewing, left, right, front center and front bottom. It gives you a visual display on your phone as you're brushing so you know exactly when to move to the next area. It is taking me a little longer than normal - around 3 minutes (including tongue) to effectively brush everywhere, but that's okay, it's what I needed. I read some reviews and watched some videos that said the brush couldn't determine where it was in your mouth and I have not found that to be the case. My guess is that it partially learns your brushing habits to improve the tracking. I always brush in the same order, left to right, top to bottom, so it hasn't had any issues with accurately determining where the brush is in my mouth. I also like the pressure sensor that turns red when you're brushing too hard or your chosen color when not brushing hard enough. I didn't realize I was brushing harder than I should until I bought this toothbrush. The tongue cleaning mode is also useful as it's set for 30 seconds. I wasn't brushing nearly 30 seconds before this toothbrush. In summary, this is the best toothbrush I've ever used. Here are the pros and cons in my opinion: Pros: - Excellent, powerful cleaning backed by ADA approval - 3D tracking of all tooth surfaces with the app for a thorough clean - Tongue cleaning mode with set time - Larger brush head covers more area - Quiet - Fast charging - Sleek and attractive appearance and small footprint - Magnetic base that charges fast Cons: - Price - The brush head is a little large. I have a smaller mouth and it fits, but some might find it a little uncomfortable - My biggest gripe is that two people can't use the app unless you either use the same cell phone or constantly pair and unpair the base with each of your phones - The travel case only holds one brush and it doesn't use a USB charger like every other travel device

After using the product for about a year it started manifesting all sorts of problems. One of the problems is as other people mentioned, the issue with the battery. The unit will show 95% charge and suddenly shows 0% charge and stops. After you put in back to charge for 3 minutes, it is again at 20% and then it jumps itself to 75% etc. One other issue is while you are brushing the teeth, the unit will simply stop and start to reboot itself or stop and refuse to restart until after sometime. Still, the unit can turn on and off on itself. I though there were ghosts in my bathroom turning on and off the brush, lol. As for the software in general, I also had all sorts of issues. After I explained the issue to Oral B, their customer service is extremely good ; no complaints here. They sent me a replacement toothbrush and also sent me a box to send them the old toothbrush and they paid for shipping and everything. One of the best customer service experiences I can say. I was excited. Unfortunately, the new toothbrush IO9 they sent me started developing the exact similar problems after only 3-4 months. At least the one I sent them took me about a year before to start showing problems. I was so disappointed because this is not a cheap toothbrush. I spent about $300 for it. I googled issues with IO toothbrushes and noticed that I wasn’t the only one facing those exact issues. I was relieved it is not because of ghosts in my bathroom I was having those issues. This time i decided I won’t waste my time calling customer support again about the second unit they sent me. I accepted the loss and decided to move on. I bought another OralB but a non IO series. The Genius series. I never had any issues with it.
