I'm just going to start off by saying this is my favorite toothbrush that I have owned so far, even if it is very pricey! Prior to this toothbrush, I have been alternating between an Oral-B electric toothbrush with a round head and a traditional toothbrush. The toothbrush arrives well packaged and is very easy to setup. I do use the app (iOS) while brushing my teeth. The build quality is top notch, it doesn't feel cheap. This should be expected being how expensive this toothbrush can go for. One of the reasons I chose this toothbrush over the lower models is due to its design and not having a physical button where grime can build up. The fewer crevices there are, the easier it is to keep the toothbrush clean and functioning properly. The charging puck is nice and works well. If I had any suggestions of improvement, it would be that the plastic piece that sits on top of the charger snap in place instead of just resting on top. It's so lightweight that and doesn't secure itself, that any attempt to move the charger or a bump to it can knock the plastic mount off of the charging puck. Other than that, the toothbrush sits securely and I haven't had an incident yet that could knock the toothbrush off. When brushing my teeth, I use the app and set the tooth brush to it's deep clean mode for a longer brush time. I can honestly say I don't recall my teeth ever feeling this clean from brushing at home. The closest experience I can compare it to is after having my teeth cleaned at the dentist. My whole mouth feels cleaner, my teeth feel smooth and polished, morning breath has been greatly reduced, and I have even noticed my teeth looking noticeably whiter as this toothbrush does an excellent job at removing stains (I don't smoke, but I do drink coffee and sodas). I was starting to notice this within the first 2 weeks of using the toothbrush and after about 1.5 months of use I still have the extra clean feeling after every brush and more stains have been removed from my teeth. The toothbrush is very easy to keep clean, especially with fewer crevices for grime to get caught up in. I also find that this toothbrush is less messy when being used, less drippage and such. My previous toothbrush, an Oral-B was horrendous for this. It had lots of crevices for grime to get into and the design of the brush heads allows toothpaste and saliva to drip down the handle. No such problem with this toothbrush. When I first got the toothbrush, one of my initial complaints was that it didn't allow me to capture my brushing data into Apple Health. But a few weeks ago Philips released an update to their app that does allow some data to be recorded into Apple Health, so that is a good start. Another complaint that I have which is related to the app (and how the toothbrush interprets input) is I sometimes run into problems with the toothbrush and app properly capturing the position and placement of my toothbrush. Even though I may be brushing in the area it wants me to, sometimes it has a hard time recognizing if I am brushing on the outside or the inside. When this happens, it may not flag enough time being brushed in that area and want me to brush for an additional amount of time to touch up those areas. And it isn't always the same area. This may be due to a calibration problem and it would nice if there was an easy way to quickly recalibrate the toothbrush so that it can better identify its position. On a side note, if you plan to use the app to track your brushing habits, I recommend getting something to mount your phone to your mirror. It will make using the app while brushing a lot easier. I do like how the app and toothbrush track the life of your brush head and recommends when it is time to replace it. Typical recommendation to replace a brush head is ever 3 months. I am currently two weeks away from 2 months of use and based on my current usage, it looks like I will be prompted to replace my brush head in about 2 weeks. So why am I getting about 2 months use out of my brush head instead of three? If I had to guess, it may be due to me doing the Deep Clean option which runs for 50% longer than a typical brushing session, 3 minutes vs 2 minutes. As such, the app and toothbrush may not be calculating my brush head use by number of sessions (like it displays it as) but really by how much time the brush head is used for. TL;DR The toothbrush is phenomenal but pricey. If you don't mind spending the money, or find it on sale, you won't be disappointed in the performance of the toothbrush. It does an excellent job at cleaning your teeth and removing stains. The app is decent, but there is always room for improvement. But seeing that improvements have already been made in the short time I have been using the toothbrush, I am hopeful that the app will continue to get better in the coming months. Adding an easy to use recalibrate option for its positioning awareness, I think, will be extremely helpful. I would also like to see more data being captured in Apple Health instead of just brush duration. The app captures a lot more data points that I would like be viewed in Apple Health as well. Not sure if this is a limitation with Apple Health or the app.

I am a old school kinda guy as I have been using a normal toothbrush since the stone age. But I have a trouble spot that no matter how hard I try I cant keep plaque from building up and it is my permanent retainer. I am a diligent brush twice a day full mouth clean guy with a stelar track record of one minor cavity in decades. So I never saw the need to make the expensive jump to a power toothbrush but it was always a question in the back of my mind. Could I brake that plaque stronghold if I made the investment. So after dragging my feet for years I took the plunge into the deep end. The fit and finish on the tooth brush fits the price tag everything fits snugly and worked no fuss. Firmware updates: for a toothbrush really?!? but here we are and it was a bit of a pain to get installed but once the process started it updated and I have no change logs. The brushing. What I am guessing you have soldiered through this rambling review for. It is mind blowing. The sonic vibrations are something to behold as it powers around your mouth. The only comparison I have is to a good power scrubbing at the dentist. We are talking crazy clean here, I could tell from the first session I was making progress on my stubborn plaque areas. Software. It has a lot of it and honestly I fired up the app the first time set the settings I wanted and went through their guided session once before just going back to my normal setup. I could see it be cool for people that don't have good habits already but for me I don't see much value. Final thoughts. Buy it. Yep that is about it I love this product and would happily buy it again no questions ask.

Everything folks say here is true. This is the most expensive brush Sonicare makes. But unfortunately it's also the worst brush they've ever made. What make this brush seem like an upgrade at first glance, is the petite and efficient profile. Smaller case, and the haptic feedback buttons. In reality: - My brush handle broke in less than 2 years. The metal rod just became loose and the brush started to generate an awful sound - The haptic buttons are extremely easy to accidentally activate as you hold the brush normally - The haptic buttons are hard to press when you actually mean to press them. They're hard to find because their labels need to illuminate before you know where and what to press - The battery life seems shorter than the previous version - And here's the kicker, the brush just randomly turns off as you're brushing. Sometimes after 5 seconds, sometimes after 20 seconds, sometimes it works ok. I'm not the only one. You'll see tons of other reviewers experiencing the same problem. This issue happens even though the brush has the latest firmware, and is fully charged. Sonicare tried to make a brush that was their most efficient, visually most refined/simple brush they had ever made. In reality, they managed to over-engineer and over-design this thing to the point of hurting durability, functionality, affordability, and reliability. How is it not infuriating to pay so much for a brush and see it turn off at random times? Am I holding it wrong? This was experienced on two separate tooth brushes. 5 stars for the aspiration, 0 stars for the execution.

I switched to the Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige after experiencing recurring battery issues with my previous Oral-B iO9. Unfortunately, the battery would unexpectedly drop from around 60% to zero, and after three replacement units with the same problem, I decided it was time to try a different premium option in this category. I've been using the 9900 Prestige for about two weeks now and I'm really impressed. The brushing experience feels smoother and more gentle compared to what I was used to, while still delivering excellent cleaning results. The build quality is noticeably solid - it feels premium in hand and very well-made. I connected the app right from the start, and while the toothbrush works perfectly fine without it, I found the tutorials and tips genuinely helpful. They actually improved my brushing technique and made the experience more comfortable overall. A couple of things I really appreciate: the design prevents toothpaste from dripping down into the handle area, which keeps things cleaner, and the brush itself feels durable and built to last. It took me a day or two to adjust to the different brushing power, but once you get used to it, it's really quite good. The only minor downside is that you need the app to switch brushing modes or check the exact battery percentage. But considering my previous battery reliability issues, I'm just happy to have a brush that works consistently. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality electric toothbrush.

Whould not have made this upgrade but my 3yr old diamond was getting noisy. I really like this Prestige version. I can tell a difference. Not major but at 76 with all my own teeth why not go for the best. I do think it is too pricey but I used all of my points and only paid half price. Save your points and make the plunge. My dentist reccomended Philips Sonicare but said just get the cheapest version. I had used an oral-b for many years and do feel this is an upgrade from that brand.

i’ll give you my sense of this product both good and bad. I use this toothbrush twice every single day and I routinely use the app to guide my technique. I replace the brushes on the toothbrush whenever the app says it’s time for replacement. Let me open with the positives: It’s all about the results. I’ve been using this toothbrush for about seven months. During that time, I’ve had two appointments for dental cleaning. The first time I went in for a cleaning my hygienist immediately noticed a difference in the plaque buildup. On the second visit, there was almost no plaque after almost 4 months. What little there was easily was removed. It made my dental cleanings faster, easier and much less painful, My gums stop bleeding during the cleanings and my gums were in better shape. Now for the negatives: The app is bad but necessary. It’s not just about having the right toothbrush. It's about having the right technique and the app, which works most of the time, is essential to building good technique. Over time, it will train you to spend 20 seconds in each section of the mouth for the two minute period with a shift between the inside teeth and the outside teeth at 10 second intervals. This retraining of technique is absolutely the critical piece to success with this toothbrush. A minor negative is that you do have to charge this thing more often than the earlier models. That’s expected because this one’s got a BT radio in it and it’s going to draw power. They kept the body of the toothbrush about the same size as the earlier generations, which means it’s the same battery. Higher energy draw with the same battery equals shorter battery life. it’s easy enough to recharge overnight in either the case or the stand. I considered this to be a minor nuisance. The brushes are also significantly more expensive than the earlier ones and the earlier ones don’t fit on this toothbrush. Others have observed reliability problems. I haven’t had any with the brush itself, but the app is buggy. Despite the app being buggy, it’s still usable and it's absolutely necessary to use it. Even if you don’t use it every day, you've got to use it every few days just to verify you’re maintaining the right technique. I wish this had a better app, but that’s about the only thing I can say about this toothbrush that is subpar. At the end of the day, it’s exceeded my expectations in terms of improving my dental health by minimizing plaque buildup in a meaningful and measured way. It’s an expensive toothbrush but I do recommend it... Especially if you tend to build up plaque.

Up until this point it's been five stars I like the way it travels and it's compact I don't like how my finger always turns the sensitivity level up or down when I'm brushing my teeth but other than that it's great ,well not so much anymore. it stopped working after 2 years so I'm going to give it one star until they replace it .. follow up, after answering a handful of questions and waiting a couple weeks they sent me a new one so I'm going to give them all stars

I have been a long term sonic toothbrush user for 10+ years. I have always ordered their top of the line electric toothbrushes. During that time however I have seen the manufacturing quality decline and their prices increase. I ordered the 9900 sonic toothbrush and the battery failed within two days. I could not recharge the toothbrush. I then received a replacement and it too failed the next day for the same reason. I therefore decided to switch to the Oral-B electric toothbrush that is half the price and rated more highly by Consumer Reports. In additions to the Sonic rechargeable batteries being of questionable quality the connection between the brush head and the toothbrush body is flimsy at best. Usually there is a gap between the tooth brush head and the toothbrush body resulting in failure of the rubber gasket on the toothbrush body leading to a failure of the toothbrush mechanism itself with 2 to 3 years. I am tired of replacing these toothbrushes because of their poor design and poor manufacturing quality.
