It was practically ready to use out of the box. Just some calibration and I started laser engraving. It's super fast and very accurate and easy to use. Compared to my XTOOL M1 ULTRA AND BAMBU LAB H2D, this is my favorite so far. The only down side is the size of the plate to work on. It's very small. I ordered a slider tool but it won't get here till 4 days from now. The F2 ultra is extremely overpriced for my wallet. But maybe in a year or 7 we might get one but probly the F5 would be out by then. ... show more

Although I did get a bad device (could not get color on 304 ss), I must say that I am very happy with everything else - this performs well. Customer service was excellent and I am waiting for my replacement device. Looking forward to a lot more productivity with this. This laser is fantastic. It took a minute to calibrate the laser but once I got it man it was awesome and easy to use. The laser makes crisp designs on metal and leather. I am still figuring out the laser color option though that is harder to get right. Maybe watching some YouTube videos may help. Overall this laser far exceeds my expectations it’s light, portable and easy to use. I think I am gonna get the purifier though because I need it for markets. ... show more

I was impressed with the quality and ease of operations for this machine. I hate to give this a one star; however I have been frustrated trying to use it. #1: I also purchased the desktop air cleaner for any fumes exiting the machine. The cable connecting the f2 to the smoke filter seems to be wrong; has the wrong connector, at least where the manual tells me to plug it in. I went to X-tool web site about this; however, only able to contact their "A not so I" help which (if you can believe it even worse than Amazons.) The other issue is with the software; It, now, will not give me the option of saving my hard work to my computer. The software just sends my work to the cloud; "That is not what I want. ... show more

Overall I am extremely impressed with this, and it's fairly easy to get started with. The software makes it easy to engrave on pretty much everything once you get it setup and figured out. I will say if you plan on engraving on tumblers, spend the extra money and get the rotation tool. I purchased it without, and it does an okay job, but it would be a lot faster and look a lot better if I had the tool. As far as quality, I have never owned another laser so I cannot compare to others, but this is more than capabale of producing quality engarvings on multiple surface types and still produces great detail even on smaller surfaces / images. ... show more

Solid little machine, did everything I asked for on the basics. The 15-watt diode handled wood, acrylic, and leather like a champ. The 5-watt IR is nice to have too. Overall I was really impressed with the build quality and how easy it was to use. Only drawback is metal engraving. It’ll mark stainless just fine, but it won’t give you any depth or do the kind of serious metal work I was hoping for. If you’re mainly doing non-metal projects, it’s a great pick. If you need real metal capability, you’ll probably want something stronger. Four stars out of five. Still happy with the purchase, just know its limits. ... show more
