This was the first laser engraver that I ever bought and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed using it. It’s very easy to use, focus, and set up for continuous use. I’ve had this for a year and I love it. I bought this to engrave fire arms and it does a great job. Just recently the laser broke on me and I contacted their coustomer service and the walked me though the steps to see what was wrong and found out what was wrong and the send me a new part for free and all I had to do was install it. Well, it was all going well, until it wasn't. I had the fiber laser for approximately 2 weeks. Didn't really get to put it through its paces. This is was one of 5 lasers I have set up and the only Gweike. It was running a small batch of aluminum business cards set up 2x2, all of the same color, and half way down the batch the etching got weaker and lighter. The laser fan kept running like normal. Everything was running like normal, except it was no longer engraving my cards. There was a slightly different smell coming out the cooling fan. Not a bad smell but more of a slightly sweet smell. Not very strong but definitely different. I trouble shot it for about an hour and changed all kinds of settings. Went back to the basics of lightburn and it just failed to create any engraving laser. Everything else was normal. Plugged another laser engraver into this computer and all was well. No issues. Plugged the g2 max back in and no burning laser. Packed it up and returned it to amazon. Other than the failure it came very well packaged, was easy to set up, and was working in no time. Its a shame stopped working within 2 weeks of receiving it.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this through the manufacturer website saving about 300 bucks. It meets my expectations for stainless steel and steel but it does not engrave aluminum very well. It will cut through the anodizing or coatings on aluminum but will not cut into bare aluminum much. Works great on engraving on plastic. It's cool that it comes with free software but lightburn is worth buying. If you plan on engraving anything from a picture like logos and whatnot you will need light burn as the factory software doesn't do images as well as light burn. The g laser software it comes with is great for doing text though.

After nearly a year of fantastic results with my Gweike G2 Plus 20W, I felt confident in the build quality and performance. As I had some upcoming projects in my makerspace that meant I would need increase my number of items I was engraving at a time, I decided to upgrade to the Gweike G2 Max 50W fiber laser. I estimated the increased speed would be worth the higher price tag. The Max did not disappoint. Having already gone through the initial learning curve with the 20W model, the setup of the G2 Max felt very familiar and even smoother. The connection between the laser and the base unit was a little different (a permanent connection vs plug in wires) but other than that setup was pretty much the same. The software integration with Lightburn was the same, just changing the model in the software. The most immediate and noticeable difference is the speed of this 50W laser. Projects that used to take a longer on the 20W are now completed in a fraction of that time. This has increased my throughput and allowed me produce deep engraved challenge coins much faster (and I was pretty pleased with the 20w version) Beyond the speed, the increased power makes cutting thicker materials a breeze. The quality of the engraving is great, just like with the G2 Plus, but with the added benefit of significantly reduced processing times. I am very happy with the Gweike G2 Max 50W. This has been a great upgrade and so far has been as reliable as the 20w version. Great addition to my workshop, and I recommend it folks needing an affordable higher powered fiber laser.

Purchased the GWEIKE G2 Max 50W Fiber Laser Engraver because I wanted to engrave some metal items that my diode laser was not capable of engraving. Everything was well packed, much more robust than I thought it would be when I ordered it. After setup (which didn't take very long maybe 30 minutes) I was engraving my first item which was an anodized aluminum business card. I have to say that it came out pretty darn good! After 3 weeks I ran into an issue with the laser, however GWEIKE stepped up and handled everything to my satisfaction. The laser is well built, works with the common software you would use with a laser engraver (free and paid software) and I have been impressed with how well this unit engraves on Aluminum, Brass and Stainless Steel (the three metals I have tried so far). The machine is easy to focus and I appreciate the number of videos and documentation files that GWEIKE has produced to help get you up and running quickly! It is a no brainer purchase if you are looking for a 50 watt fiber laser that will get the job done!
