I have used the D8 for over year now for the typical diagnosis of several automotive problems on mostly Mercedes, VW, and Hondas with good success. Recently I used the D8 to duplicate ignition keys for a Honda Civic 2001. The process was straightforward and worked perfectly. Overall the D8 provides diagnostics capabilities similar to OEM tools in an easy to use high value format. New info: The D8 did not charge when connected to a car for diagnosing a problem. Xtool tech support work with me to determine the ODBII cable was bad and sent me a replacement that worked. Xtool tech support was very responsive in getting this problem resolved. Thanks Jenny

Definitely check with them on your vehicle. It wouldn't do a lot of what it said it would for my 2015 F150. It was quick and not hard to use but it had some struggling points. Just was not for me, I'll spend a little more to get something a little more reliable Only do the few updates you need, update all is a bad option because you get every country every vehicle and every variation between different markets.

I purchased this unit to be able to scan a few of my personal vehicles. Both German built and American built. And a few Korean built and it’s been able to communicate very well with all of them. Amazing unit with a lot of features. For each make. Pretty impressive. Best bang for the buck and I even have the big units from some of the big tool makers and this absolutely holds it own against them. Great battery life. Easy to update, great feature to look up codes fixes online right on the unit. Prints outs are professional looking so using in a commercial atmosphere is a definite.

Great tool for the $$$$. I can’t believe the d8 lets you program keys, rewrite VIN so you can change out your ECM. Amazing tool with exceptional support via Amazon Xtool support- better than Xtool which is odd.

The Xtool D8 was easy to use but did not support many features with my old Toyota. The case needs deeper compartments to get the contents back in faster. It might have fit if I had discarded the protective foam and left the AC adapter out. The packing slip mentioned a 12v adapter, but I did not see one in my box. Although this is a Prime item, there is no quick refund option. I imagine fraud is a big concern. I must wait up to 30 days after the return is received plus another week for bank processing.

Key programming, map topology. Does everything I need it to do! It scans very fast. All bi directional worked on my truck. FYI will need to be updated to have topology.
