I’ve done a lot of metal detecting with scuba and snorkel gear. I laugh every time I see a picture or advertisement of these stubby scuba shafts. I did receive the XP Dive shaft as a gift. I have found that a standard detector shaft extended slightly less than on land is more useful for diving. The XP Deus is no exception. Since this dive shaft is too short, one can only search a small area that is, uncomfortably, below them. The detector coil is left in close proximity to other equipment that may cause interference. It is very difficult to search silty areas with a short shaft. With a longer shaft, one can keep the coil on top of the target, pressing it to the ground. The diver then has some maneuverability without losing the target. I would suggest the regular XP Lite shaft for diving. ... show more
