This works great and I used a pice of old PVC pipe I had to make a handle. Construction is solid and I’ve been using it on the beach when I metal detector. It’s light enough where I can carry it for an hour or two without difficulty. Whatever you decide to use for a handle, take the weight overall into consideration. I’ve carried shovels in the past and the lower the weight the better the outing will be. At the end opposite the scoop end, there is enough space to put the ball of my foot to help “shovel” or dig into the sand. The ‘screen’ size is great to allow all sand to filter through while retaining objects I discovered, such as coins and other metal trinkets. Overall it’s what I expected and am very pleased with the product.

Product is sturdy, assembly is one bolt, and works well for metal detecting at the beach. I made a handle with a 40” piece of 3/4” schedule 40 PVC and attached with two bolts using the provided holes. The fit was a little loose, but has no impact with the use of it. Sorry but have to downgrade my review. Been using this item for a couple months now and when using in wet sand, the top tack welds could not handle the stress and easily broke allowing the top of the cage to bend up. I used a couple 90 degree brackets across the top and over the sides then bolted through a couple of the cage holes to put it back together. So far this bush fix is holding up, even in wet sand.
