well made outdoor string light and this one seems to be more universal for extending to another brand string light. You need to download its apps to be able to fully control and connect to your Alexa or google. But since this one is one single color, what it does only dimming and flickering. I do not need those, just leave it on and unplug to turn it off. I will be on steadily after turning it on about 3 min. Love this one ... show more

I will echo the insights of other reviewers in that these string lights are versatile, they are long, and they add unparalleled ambience. It seems this particular string light design has reached a fever pitch in popularity, and for good reason. They look good no matter where you put them. However, The bulb distribution is rather sparse. Perhaps it cost the manufacturer too much to line the cord with many of them, given the investment in the LED and phone application technology. Again, they are long, so you can double back to fill in any of the distant gaps, but a consumer is ultimately purchasing this based on the listed length. They might be disappointed to see how few bulbs there are. Also, when the lights turn on, they are in a constant flash mode. It takes using the app to change that initial setting. It would be nice if there was a control on the battery supply to toggle between the settings manually, as phone access isn't always available (sometimes it needs to charge, or maybe you've left it out of reach, or perhaps it's temporarily disabled etc.) Also, some individuals might not want to add another application to their phone, yet still may desire switching the light settings. What I find remarkable is the ability of the led lights to mimic incandescent filaments. They aren't exactly the same, but you can't really tell, and frankly, it doesn't really matter, they are fun and beautiful. If you are very intent on having that original incandescent filament appearance in your space, maybe these might disappoint. I do appreciate that orga original look, but they are so close to the original, and the myriad of customizations supersedes that desire. I have a sun porch with lights in this style already and am adding them to really condense the lighting. They are a little pricey, and I have seen customizable led technology sell for less, but again, lights like these are in demand, so I understand the mark up. It may be costly if you want more than one strand. Overall, I think they are worth the investment, especially if you want/need only one strand. ... show more

These lights were packaged very well and arrived undamaged. They also have a type of hard plastic for the bulbs which I feel is better than glass when it comes to standing up to the elements. The color of the light is great and they really elevate my outdoor space. I also like that they come with a dimmer. I had a little trouble getting it to work right at first but my fiancé looked at it and had it working correctly very quickly. I would definitely recommend these lights if you're looking for bistro lights. ... show more

These lights were a great addition to my backyard environment. They are waterproof, bright, easy to install, and offer great control via Alexa. I can turn them on an offer using voice commands, macros, or via a timer. You can't control their color, as you can with some of the other outdoor lights I have, but they are dimmable, which is a nice touch - and you can adjust their color temperature via the phone app for a warmer yellow tone or as starker white. When I purchased a 50-foot string of lights, I was expecting more than 15 bulbs, but once installed they don't look all that sparse stretching between the house and trees. I don't mind the plastic bulbs because they are so much less likely to shatter or break. The app works great, and setting it up to work with Alexa was a breeze. I have no problem recommending these lights to anyone looking to add a little magic to your outdoor living spaces. ... show more

I wasn't sure I was going to be happy with just white lights for our backyard as usually I like a lot of color, but these are just lovely. They add a good brightness without being distracting or difficult to look at, and can be dimmed and have their color "warmth" adjusted easily in the app. They connect up to Alexa really easily as well, which is great for having them as part of routines. When they arrived, it was a bit of a tangled mess, but pretty easy to sort really, and I love the look of them. These string lights are easily configurable through an app available on both the App Store and Google Play, offering various lighting modes and brightness levels, as well as scheduling features. They are also Alexa-capable, allowing for voice control. The warm colored lights create a nice atmosphere, but they are also bright enough to serve as outdoor illumination if needed. I do wish it came with a remote control option as well since you might not always carry or have access to Alexa capable hubs on your person outdoors. One thing to note is that the string lights are 50ft long, but contain only 15 bulbs which is the standard bulb count for most 25ft string lights offered in the market at the time of writing. While this may not be a major concern for some, it does mean that the bulb density is lacking compared to other products in the market. You can daisy-chain up to 100 bulbs with a single controller, but you can do so with other string lights as well so that's kind of a moot-point in the context at hand. Nevertheless, this may not matter as much to those looking for an IoT device to integrate into their existing smart home ecosystem. 4 out of 5 stars. ... show more
