I am getting tired of every connected device having its own app. Sure, I know in most cases you can integrate your smart device with Google or Alexa, but in many cases the native app is better for setup/configuration/control. Since I already had other Wyze devices, I decided to give these a try for controlling some lights. The setup was easy. The smart plugs are nicely integrated in the Wyze app. The smart plugs work perfectly. I know there are a lot of smart plugs available that will work equally as well as these. But these sure are convenient for my situation.

I initially found the Wyze plugs at that orange hardware store. I knew I had to have more! This Four-Pack is a bargain! We have a detached garage some distance from the home and never found a good solution for controlling the lights from the house. Apart from trenching the two buildings and running underground conduit the Wyze plug fit the bill as an effective solution! This product is not rated for outdoor use but Wyze does have outdoor plugs. We installed a low watt super bright LED motion sensor flood light on the out side and have it run it an outlet on the inside and it works perfectly! Wyze app has rules that you can set to your geographic location automatically to turn the light on at sunset and off at sunrise and even voice activated via your Amazon Alexa, or you cellphone Alexa app, or your Wyze app! You can even check the device status while you are away from your home! We even use Wyze plugs for fish tank lights!

I wouldn't consider myself a luddite, but I am not usually the first to adopt a new technology for the sake of simply having it. These plugs are *way* more convenient than I initially thought. I should specify, I did not utilize any of the "Extra" connectivity features to Alexa or anything, I just downloaded the app for ios, plugged them in, and was up-and-running very easily. While on vacation, I could set schedules for a bunch of different lights (including the outdoor christmas lights; plugged into one of these in the garage) and it worked great. I now have a couple things in my house that are hard to reach while plugged in, that I can now control from my phone while sitting on the couch... I see endless abuses for my new found power. :) The app does everything through your home wifi system, and is very quick to respond (on/off commands). It's super simple, and thus good for even the lesser technically incline. The only missing half star (if I could do half stars) is for the inexplicable scheduling of the "vacation" mode, which is like handing over your plug to a black box... it might be an amazing feature, but I couldn't figure out any of the parameters that cause it to engage/disengage. Thusly, I just used a timer schedule. Worked the same, and I could control it from numerous states away.

I own 6 Wyse smart plugs and would never recommend them. I have been waiting for a fix for daylight saving time and thy still have not provided a fix. What kind of smart plugs does not support daylight saving? Twice a year I haveto go through all of th schedules and adjust the times. To make it worse the schedules somehow manage to either move ahead or back an hour instead of keeping the same schedule. I also own a Wyse scale and it does not keep the history of measurements for long term tracking, it only keeps a few days worth.

I bought these smart plugs to replace the timers I had connected to some small decorative lights in several rooms of the house. While the timers did their job, it was a pain in the neck to have to reset them as sunset changed with the seasons. With these smart plugs, I can simply set a schedule to turn them on at sunset, then off at a particular time. You can also set a Rule with additional options if you like. In addition, you can turn them on or off with a click on your phone if desired. So far, very happy with them.

I have several of these already and decided to use them for my Christmas indoor decoration lights in the windows of several rooms. One voice command and they all turn on! Works with Google but you need their app to install the plugs so there is one extra step to set up.
