I’ve had this about a month now. This chair was easily put together by my husband soon after we received it. The color is beautiful -more of a grape/plum (great actually since I splashed a bit of Merlot on the arm one day and it took me a couple minutes to actually locate where it was wet so I could wipe it quickly, I never saw the wine color!) The fabric seems very sturdy and is not thin or fragile. I’m 5’8” and sit comfortably in the chair, it’s a very good seat height and has a reasonable footprint and not huge in an overstuffed fashion) Cushion is firm but not uncomfortably so. Manual recline is a little stiff but I expect that will ease with use. I think this was a good value and expect we’ll get quite a lot of use of it over the next few years. ... show more

Beautiful, love the color and design! Color is as pictured. Feet are solid wood, and a dark mahogany. Only assembly was to screw in 4 feet and attach the back to the seat, very easy and no tools needed. Nice fabric, and well stitched. Not extremely comfortable. A little small, but spacious enough for an average size person. Recliner is not very easy. No button, just have to push against the back...but the foot rest doesn't come up without some help. I am 5'3" and the foot rest only reaches mid calf. Doesn't recline fully to lay back. More of an accent/decorative chair for casual sitting or guests and not really for total relaxation. Good for a small space since the back doesn't need much room to recline. Overall, happy with it. ... show more

Pros: Assembly very easy as it’s only two pieces and 4 legs. Very very beautiful in person. Construction seems slightly above average for price. Deep seated. I have gotten a lot of compliments at first glance:) Cons: Not very comfortable if you’re looking to sink in and hang all day. The back is hard, so we use a pillow on the back rest for more cushion, which isn’t a big deal for us. I just remove it from another couch. It doesn’t stay reclined completely unless you keep it pushed back with force while you’re on it. Ours goes back about halfway without pressuring it to stay. Again, not a big deal for us beciase no one is trying to sleep in it. Overall, a beautiful chair for the price. Will edit in several months regarding durability. ... show more

Very beautiful and easily assembled, but this chair is hard as a rock, not comfortable at all. Also, no neck support, so the use of a neck pillow would be advisable. The push back is so difficult, I have to forceably thrust myself backwards to get it to recline. Having to do this, I doubt it'll last a year. Because of these negatives, I'd say it is over priced. Next time I purchase a chair that I'd use daily, I'll go to a showroom where I can try it out. $434 is way to much to spend and be this dissatisfied. ... show more

Pros: The fabric is a soft velvety, sturdy material. The arms and wingback style make for excellent comfort. This chair is a Barcalounger. I didn't want one particularly, but it came with the chair, which was what I was after. The look is classic. I searched for several weeks for a chair of this type but there was literally nothing out there that was under priced in my range and a solid attractive color. The color is darker than what the photo shows and the pillow does not come with it, sorry. Cons: definitely needs two adults to put the back on. If you don't get the fit right, you can bend the metal forks and it will be difficult to for the parts to align. Not sure that this chair would stand up to constant wear and tear. ... show more

If you do not have a place to sit, sit on the floor. Do not buy this chair. The only good thing I can say about this chair is that Amazon is sending a truck to pick the chair up and giving me a full refund. Why should you not buy this chair? The nail heads are randomly placed, no symmetry at all. The picture online showing the chair has perfectly placed heads. This chair had nail heads that were 1 inch apart, others that were a quarter inch apart. It was noticeable from across the room. Very poor craftsmanship. Another glaring example: On the back of the chair the fabric has been stapled. That's acceptable. It is not acceptable to be so careless as to put staples in clear view on the front of the chair. The chair was packed so poorly that the fabric was actually damaged in transit. The only thing covering the chair in the box was a thin fabric, not secured by tape around the product. Recliners are shipped with the seat on the bottom of the box and the back lying across the seat. The top of the chair back, on the front side mind you, had rubbed against the chair arm to such an extent that the fabric was completed discolored with the fabric fibers almost worn through. We did not even unwrap the bottom of the chair. It took very little observation to realize this was not an acceptable product. We had just purchased two chairs the week before from one of Amazon's major competitors. Those chairs came in a sturdy box and wrapped in a heavyweight plastic that was so securely taped around the product that there would have been no way the chair could have been damaged in transit simply by rubbing against another part of the chair. And guess what. The nail heads were perfectly placed, completely symmetrical. But probably the worst insult was that the chair from Amazon was $540 so I would have expected a decent product. The chairs from the behemoth in Arkansas were $299 each. So, a word to the wise. Be very wary of this chair. I am not anti-Amazon in any way. I checked my order record and in the past 3 years we have had 349 orders for one retired couple. All personal, no business orders. But I must say I cannot believe Amazon is selling and shipping a product this poor. And Christopher Knight, I read some really good things about you on the web. But putting your name to this type product will damage your reputation. ... show more
