    • OEM style crossbars at a fraction of the cost !!
These crossbars are the same style as the OEM ones and like other more expensive ones (I suspect a lot of these crossbars come from the same manufacturing area and get sold under different names). I like that these are plain black and do not have any logos on them. Installation was easy; simply pull up on the ends on each side of the rubber seal, loosen the outer two bolts to lower the claws. Place a couple of small towels on the roof of the car where the cross bars will go to protect the surface. Place the bar on the towels on the roof of the car. Attach the claw into the roof rail on one side and partially lock it down by tightening the outermost bolt (not all the way yet). Proceed to the other side and loosen the inner bolt that lets you slide the whole attachment (leg) portion to enable the claw to sit in the roof rail (track). Tighten the outer bolt partially to engage the claw. Then tighten the inner bolt to secure the attachment portion (leg) in place. Then proceed to securely tighten all the (4) bolts and seat the rubber seal back down. Take your time and it will install without issues. From time to time check the cross bars to make sure they are secure and not wiggling; that's just maintenance and mentioned in the instructions. So far these bars are securely on the car, a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. They look very nice and complete the look of the car. Jeep used to provide complete roof racks way back when but in more recent years has opted to only include the side roof rails with the car and making crossbars an optional extra purchase. There were the perfect accessories for my new 2021 Grand Cherokee. This roof rack crossbars compatible for 2011-2021 jeep grand Cherokees is exactly what I needed. We downsized SUVs as I loved the Jeep I got and the deal, however, we mountain bike a lot and I have a rack on the hitch and needed a roof rack cross bars for carrying cargo that I have. And a kayak and paddleboard among other stuff. Now my jeep can carry the family and all our stuff to the camping site at the lake, mountain bikes paddleboards, and the children. Brilliant, I think they make my jeep look tougher when not carrying anything at all. Love the black and easy inhalation. Made of very fine hardened quality material of high-grade aluminum, and the base feet are made of high-quality plastic. it will not be rusty due to rain and will not wear your Jeep Grand Cherokee due to bumps as they mount very solid. This was super easy to install so say goodbye to the tedious installation process, this Wu-Minglu roof rack crossbar was easy to install, using minimal tools, and has a weight-bearing capacity of 150 lbs. No problems there and it is solid, and you can feel comfortable going down the freeway at 85 mph and know your stuff is going to be secure. Can’t wait for winter and put our skis and snowboard on it and get away from putting them in our old SUV.     • Great pair of Cross Bars for Grand Cherokee!
I don't know why but amazon is not letting me upload the photos I took during install so ill try to explain the best that I can! These things are sturdy! I have no doubts that they will be capable of holding anything I need to put on them! When you install them there are a few things to note! The first thing I did was pull back the rubber molding slightly at the end (about 4 inches) to expose the two mounting screws on the cross bars. The screw closes to the end attaches the mounting bracket to the crossbar. When you start to loosen that screw you will see what I mean, a little bracket inside the crossbar will start to fall out. The second screw (the one toward the inside or closest to the center) holds the plastic tower piece onto the cross bar. If it is to narrow or too wide to fit the rails on your jeep you can loosen that one and slide the tower to where you need it. One of my cross bars fit perfect and the second one I needed to move that tower slightly which is no big deal as it is slotted and moves easily. once you have the bracket from the cross rail where you want it on the rails on the roof of the jeep you can tighten it down in place. It grips really well and will not move or slide at this point. Once you have done that push the rubber molding back down into its channel and you are good to go! I am very excited to try these out when traveling by putting one of those cargo containers up there and also I plan to use them to help transport a kayak! When I opened the package I could feel that these are at least good quality. The ones from our old car are much sturdier but these should do the job and they feel nice. They fit the 2021 Grand Cherokee well and look good on top of the car. I thought it was going to be very easy to install but that was not the case. The problem is not that they are inherently difficult to install, but that the instructions only tell you maybe 3 out of 6 things you need to know. Firstly they say nothing about the keys and locks. Then they don't say how to actually attach the bars to the rails (when you unscrew the outermost screw, a metal piece comes down and this could be set in the tracks, then you can retighten the screw to compress and it will be in place). Then they say to simply press down the cover when you really need to use the keys to remove it and slide it back on, the way they say is very difficult. Anyways that's just the fault of the instructions. They definitely could be easier to put on but not too bad, maybe 5-10 minutes if you know how to do it.
