The Worx MAKERX Angle Grinder with Brushless Motor was specifically designed to be slim and easy to grip with more than enough power to cut thin sheet goods and aggressively carve out complex shapes and contours. Thanks to variable speed control and a reliable, portable 20V power supply in the Hub, you have the flexibility to perform a number of tasks, like cutting pipes for wind chimes, making a wooden card holder, refurbishing the glass on those foggy headlights, cutting guttering or siding in place, and shaping copper sheets for ornamental pieces. And the included cut-off wheel, grinding wheel, and sanding wheel will get you started right out of the box. MAKERX has created crafting and hobby tools that are smaller, but more powerful—the secret lies in the Hub. It’s a power source that you can take with your tool, so if you want to work in the middle of a large space, you can, and still have the power to get the job done. Thoughtful design allowed Worx engineers to make these tools slimmer, so you can hold them with more precision, and provide a level of detail to your projects that’s not possible with other tools. This model doesn’t come with the MAKERX Hub or a 20V Power Share battery, but that’s by design. Because if you already have a Hub and a battery, there’s no need to buy it again.     • battery is short lived, but it is still functional
I actually use this instead of the super pricey hoof boss to trim my goats' hooves. It needs to be turned up the whole way to work for this task, or it will shut off. Running full tilt like that, I can finish 4 feet before the battery dies. So, gets done with one goat at a time. Not super efficient, but it does do a great job while it is running. Not so loud that it freaks the goats out, although mine are pretty used to me messing with them and have been clipped, and the noise is not much louder than clippers. I would like to find a second battery so I can get through more feet in one session, but overall I am happy with it so far. Just hoping it holds up over the long run! ... show more

As others have mentioned, when using the cut off tool, this things stalls under a load. I found myself having to be careful how much pressure I put on it. I purchased it because I have the Power Hub (which you will need to purchase separately to for this tool to work) and needed something portable to cut some chain link fence in my yard... This was cheaper than buying a larger more powerful angle grinder. If you don't need to cut thought anything super thick and you don't use an angle grinder on a regular basis then this would be a good purchase. That was my case it worked find. I also found some uses for the grinding wheel which worked really well. (Sharpened an ax and ground down some sharp edge on and old fire pit.) ... show more

I used it to sand down the edges of wood on a small desk organizer and it worked great! Love the portability of it and how I can easily do my crafts anywhere outside now (not just kneeled down next to an outlet) - you just have to be careful to go gently so it doesn't stall.     • Versatile, Portable Compact Mini-Grinder Most Useful for Crafts
This mini-grinder may be perfect for your project, but know that, even though it uses a 20V battery, it is sorely underpowered for many jobs. Under very little load and with next to no pressure being applied, the motor will stop when the blade or disc meets resistance, as it would when the blade is touching more surface area (as on cuts through material, or when flap sanding an object.) I have used it only on plastic and soft wood (pine). So, I am disappointed that it cannot do what I had hoped and expected from a 20V tool. Some of my small projects can still benefit from its portability and small size even though I will have to keep restarting it whenever the underpowered motor decides to quit, so I have given it 3 stars for those features I will find a way to use. I recently added this Angle Grinder to my Maker X set. It really has completed my crafting toolkit and I am SO excited to try out all the different things it can do. I’m an avid crafter/maker, but live in a small space, so I don’t have room for large power tools so this has been a game changer. I can still do all my projects without the hassle of clunky tools, PLUS It works with the same batteries as my other worx tools. The media could not be loaded. Edit: After using this product more, I've found it works much better at full speed. It still stalls but not nearly as much. I have changed my rating to 3 stars. I like the MakerX rotary tool so I was excited to try this one. However, I quickly noticed that this tool is underpowered and stalls a lot. You have to be gentle with this tool! A small amount of pressure will stall it out. See my video. I am sending this one back as I believe it is a design flaw since another person complained about the same thing in their Amazon review. Also, changing wheels is a hassle since it is a hex cap bolt which means you have to unscrew and screw it each time you change wheels. It would have been better if it was designed like a regular angle grinder. I do like the slim design and ergonomics though. Really disappointed with this one. Don't buy it. ... show more

We've been using the Maker X as a family now since we got it for Christmas. It's such a versatile tool...my kids love it for all of their craft projects. I added the grinder attachment for a few of my own metal refinishing projects, including a couple of outdoor furniture pieces I'm prepping for spring.
