Do.t know how I worked without this for so long. Plenty of power, depending on battery. Grinds welds and metal with ease. No more running air hoses, especially for a quick job or the bigger battery powered grinder. Gets into tight areas.

    • Little pricey but powerful and versatile
As someone with an angle grinder and a dremel, I wanted something inbetween for grinding and polishing. The M12 die grinder hits a good median for tackling small to medium sized projects, or targeting hard to reach spots on a larger project. If you're already familiar with die grinders and just want to know how the M12 holds up, I've been pretty impressed. I find it rare for the motor to bog down, even after grinding hard and for a long period of time. You will find it getting hot, but I've never had it stop or the rpm drop a significant amount. The high output 5ah battery is recommended, you'll have reduced performance otherwise, but their other batteries still work perfectly fine for a number of lighter tasks You can buy their 1/8" collet to adapt dremel bits which is nice if you already have those, and the 1/4" collet opens you up to the extensive roloc quick change system Ergonomics are pretty good, single button to cycle through 4 speed settings and a trigger that gives you pretty decent speed control. If you're new to it, it's pretty nice to start slow as you find the angle that doesn't make the wheel buck around before going to full speed Knocking a star off because of its price tag and the fact you need their 5ah for full beans, plus the fact mind has a slight squealing noise that suddenly developed. I love this thing. I do a lot of metal fabrication; cutting, welding, grinding, etc. I reach for this quite a bit. It’s become the tool I use when I want a little more control than I can get with the angle grinder. So I use wire wheels, sanding discs, flap discs, and red scotch brite pads the most. It’s awesome! It’s very versatile. It fits in so many places. It’s very comfortable to use. The speed adjustments are very nice to have. It has plenty of power. I have learned that it is a little too high demand for the CP2.0 (2AH, non-High Output) batteries. I got very little runtime before the battery would get too hot and the die grinder would stop working. Once I got a couple 5AH High Output batteries I could start pushing the die grinder a lot harder. ... show more
