Description

This brushless small cordless angle grinder requires no time changing brushes, and offers a longer motor life. DEWALT cordless grinder offers a high level of protection. Its break stops the wheel in 2 seconds or less. The Kickback Break engages maximum force to stop the wheel when there is a pinch, stall, or bind- up to reduce kickback. The grinder will also shut off in those events to further protect the user. Battery and charger are sold separately.

With steady use, the battery will discharge after several minutes, so it's helpful to have a second battery on standby. I use these at work cutting rebar, with a wire wheel, and with a concrete grinding wheel on a daily basis. It’s a well-designed grinder that cuts and grinds very well. So far just used for twisted wire brush on rust, worked great, with little drain on a generic 4Ah battery. Weight is fine, balance good. I like the hex wrench system for tightening the arbor screw; much more likely to be readily available if the provided wrench is lost or forgotten. 6K RPM's plenty adequate for light to moderate jobs. Tool seems well thought out to me. The complaints about stopping with overheating and binding are a little hard to understand given that these are built in safety and longevity features thoroughly covered in the instructions. This is not equal to a plug in tool, as is true of all battery powered tools. I expect if a constant heavy load is put on it the battery will run down quickly, and the motor is likely to overheat given the constraints of battery powered tools. Just physics, folks. If you want 10K+ RPM and ability to do constant heavy cutting or grinding, use something with a cord! ... show more

The whole tool requires the use of a special Allen Wrench. Mine did not come with this wrench. Otherwise the tool works well so far.

Lots of power, really responsive with virtually no bogging down. Even using the thicker cutting/grinding wheels. Dewalt is definitely getting their brushless motors figured out. Well worth the money.
