By coincidence, the screwdriver arrived with another Amazon purchase that required installation of castors into a plastic base. The screwdriver definitely came in handy. A couple of things I noticed: 1. Be ready to hold on once the forward or back switched in pressed. I'm sure there's a learning curve involved. But the immediacy of the applied torque is a definite plus. My experience is limited at this point, but so far so good. 2. The unit seems well built. The security of bits in the chuck is appreciated. 3. The entire package is well-presented. The case with integrated bit holder seems sturdy. No complaints. 4. I appreciate the mechanical torque selection, though it gets a bit stiff when selecting the "Max" value. I'm hoping that will loosen a bit over time. Otherwise it works well. 5. Some have commented on the placement of the forward back switch being too far away from the business end. I don't have a problem with this design choice so far. 6. My unit came with a charge of two bars showing. Once on the charger the middle bar was blinking, but became solid quicker than expected. It didn't seem long after that full charge was achieved...maybe around an hour. The unit was still showing three bars after installing 16, 5/16" long screws into plastic. I cannot comment at this time about battery charge duration under heavier use. I may edit this review as experience is gained. Overall, I'm expecting good use from this tool for medium to light applications and reducing wrist fatigue in the process. For the price, I consider this sa good value. Further comment on battery duration is pending.

This little electric screwdriver has been super useful, definitely a good purchase! I bought it over a year ago and I've used it on all sorts of things, including a lot of the some-assembly-required stuff you buy on here. Shelves, side tables, and when I moved I even used it to take apart and reassemble a kitchen table. The adjustable torque is very handy! The low setting is great for light MDF and thin bamboo where tightening it too much can split the wood. The high setting can make quick work of pretty large bolts in hardwood (pre-drilled anyway, I haven't tried to use it on anything large and self-drilling in hardwood). On high it'll put out enough torque that it twists my wrist if I don't brace myself. The battery lasts a long time and I love that it charges with just a regular USB! I've used it pretty steadily for several hours at a time when building/reassembling stuff when moving and it only needed charging about once a day on even the heaviest use days. I should point out that it wouldn't charge on my Anker Nano 67W charger, but it charged just fine on an 11 year old 40W Anker charging hub. I haven't messed around to figure out why but just in case anyone else has this issue, try an older model charger, this thing isn't fancy and doesn't need super high speed charging. The various tips and the little box to store them all are enough for most of my needs, I'm sure I can add more tips if I end up needing them. For what it is, it's a great tool and I love it! It won't replace a cordless drill, but for light to medium duty tasks I'll take this over a heavy drill every day. I keep it in a drawer in the kitchen so I can grab it any time, it's my go to over both a regular screwdriver and my drill.

I never knew how much I needed this little tool until it started living in my kitchen drawer. The button lock is great to prevent accidental activation. The WORX WX242L has become my go-to for virtually every household task — tightening cabinet hinges, assembling flatpack furniture, swapping out outlet covers, fixing the kids' toys — you name it. It's always within arm's reach, charged up, and ready to go. That's the magic of it. The 7-gear torque adjustment gives you genuinely useful control. At the low end you're barely kissing a screw, and at the top end you get a maximum of 5 N·m (44 in-lbs) of torque — plenty for 95% of everything around the house. And yes, I know what you're thinking: how does that stack up against "real" tools? For perspective, my DeWalt 20V XR bit driver puts out 206 N·m (1,825 in-lbs) of torque. That's roughly 41× more grunt. But here's the thing — you don't need a jackhammer to hang a picture frame or snug down a loose screw on your dishwasher door. Reaching for the DeWalt for those jobs is overkill, and stripping a delicate screw with that much torque is a real risk. Update: I’ve had this screwdriver for a few weeks and found that I love having it! Read my review and you’ll see that I never had a dislike for it but was uncertain of the slight wobble and LED light. Well, I’m a DIY’er and have used this many times already. I found the wobble, when it’s turned on, doesn’t mean a thing. When it’s in use, the screwdriver drives the screw straight. I still don’t care for the light but that’s irrelevant when my hands are saved. I have a headlamp that solves the problem easily. Battery power is great and the power is strong! These screwdrivers went down to under $20 before Christmas so I bought a few more for gifts because I liked it so much. I still can recommend this Worx screwdriver. Original review- I purchased this rechargeable screw driver for myself because, as a senior, my hands are just not up for the manual task of using a regular screw driver. After reading the great reviews, I got it on Black Friday and it lives up to most reviewers positive comments. I'm here to give some additional comments for you from a seniors point of view. First of all, it does have a great feel to it, not heavy at all. The grip is just right for even smaller arthritic hands. Controls are easy to manage too. It does have some awesome power to it to drive those screws in but I've yet to test it on minor drilling. It's really not meant to do that kind of thing but only for lighter jobs I feel like it could work alright. The collet is strong! It holds the bits like they'll be in this thing forever! For me, I like it but it is really difficult for me to get those little bits out of the collet or extender. Remember folks, I'm a senior so weaker hands and grip here... but truthfully a tight magnetic fit is exactly what someone would want in a thing like this. I just have to get used to removing the bit with something "grippy". I will add here that even with the tight fit the bit wobbles a little on my screw driver. At first, I thought that might affect the use by driving in the screw at an angle or perhaps even loosely by not gripping the wood (or whatever). So far so good, the wobble doesn't seem to bad enough to affect anything. Honestly the LED lights are a great idea but they are so dim it's actually annoying to have them. Maybe it's my eyes but I don't have serious cataracts yet so I don't know LOL. The light just seems to be a blueish, almost non existent light. At any rate, I would prefer a brighter more direct light. These lights are not only dim but seem to only illuminate around the screw. In other words, there's light, just not shining on the area directly on the screw or bit. If that is okay with you then you probably won't even notice or care about the dim LEDs. I like the case and accessories. The closure is kind of a cheap click type but with some care, it should last a while. At first blush, I actually was thinking of returning it because of the wobble and poor lights but I can either pay $150 for the Milwaukee, $90 for Dewalt or get some other Amazon sellers off brand cheap thing (and there’s plenty of them to choose from) that may break sooner rather than later. I do my own yard work and have many Worx rechargeable products for the yard and I haven't been disappointed with any of them. I can recommend this Worx cordless screw driver but it does have some issues in my opinion.

Holding charge for a year - still haven't charged it once, even out of the box. And it works so well -- great to keep around the home instead of a manual screwdriver, especially when you're building something with lots of screws like a bed -- lots of bits in this kit, too.

I was only able to use this on the factory charge because it absolutely refused to take a charge from any adaptor or in any outlet. The instructions say to charge it for 5 hours. I tried that with a regular charger and a fast charger. I left it for 5 hours and also overnight. I just wouldn't take a charge. I returned it, asking for a replacement, and they sent me someone else's defective return! They didn't even bother to remove all of the RMA label or the return slip in the box! So I figured I should buy something else. In the time I could use the partial factory charge, it worked really well. Excellent torque, nice grip, good light, it worked really well, unfortunately, if you can't recharge it, it's useless. I ended up getting a HODO and while it doesn't have as nice of a grip, it works great and charges perfectly.
