abunda_amazon_reviews CCHPRODUCTS was the vendor Amazon auto-selected for ordering this product. Description indicates "bulk packaging". I expected the item to come in a container or bag of some sort with at least some Milwaukee branding. Nope. The item came in a generic plastic mailing envelope with a loose manual, and a single phillips head bit. Amazon packed this generic envelope into a box with the rest of my order. Amazon needs to work on their packing. The box didn't contain enough filler materials to prevent this item from flopping around. Thanks, Amazon. I didn't note any signs of shipping damage, so I loaded a battery into the tool, and drove about 6 small bolts. The tool worked as expected. So far, so good. Then I removed the battery, and noticed a shiny bit of metal sticking out between the halves of the tool at the bottom of the battery port. What's this? The shiny piece of metal was a clip, intended to help hold the two halves of the tool together near the bottom edge. The clip was bent, warped. I suspect this tool is a refurb / return, that someone either improperly installed the clip, or re-used a damaged clip, allowing it to catch the battery on removal. I warped the clip back into a shape sufficient to do its job, tested battery insertion and removal. No further problems, seems good. Be safe, not sorry. Order this tool from somewhere else.;;Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2018;;3.0 out of 5 stars;;Probable refurb or return sold as new. Buy from someone else!;;Loreki;;;I have been using an older version of this Milwaukee M12 for over a decade. It has been through a ton of use, from car work to attic work to fence work, and most importantly, putting up hurricane shutters when storms like Dorian, Frances, Wilma, Jeanne, or Irma are headed straight for you. This tool is lightweight which helps being on a 24’ extension ladder, is tough enough to withstand lots of drops over the years (3 stories last weekend and it’s still running great), has a great clutch for range of torque control, holds onto bits well, and lasts seemingly forever on the larger M12 battery packs. As I was shuttering up last weekend for Dorian, I wondered what would happen if my older unit died. That night I bought a newer version (this tool) and a few extra battery packs. I feel the original will continue use to run for quite a while, but it’s also rest to know you can get a replacement lifesaver for $50. This is an updated design, the most noticeable difference is that the size changed a little. The distance from the chuck to the back of the motor portion is around 3/8-1/2" shorter, the handle is portion longer by about the same amount. The older version also didn't have a belt hook, I'm not sure if I'll be using it. I have a number of Milwaukee M12 tools. They are very powerful for the size. Lightweight, small, easy to use. Easy adjustments for torque. I have used them enough to know how much power I need on different size screws on different materials. Plus, where needed they have a lot of power, and can easily twist a number 10 screw in half. The easy to use quick release hex holder makes it very easy to change tips for different uses. It will tighten nuts up to 1/2 inch very well. With the torque set right the "impact" function makes it very efficient to easily tighten screws up to the maximum desired amount without breaking the bold or screw. The battery life is excellent. Milwaukee is one of the very best makers of quality tools. More expensive but well deliver their moneys worth. I equip my help with these also as the increase in production more than offsets the cost. They last forever excluding theft and getting wet. Do not let them get wet or they are trash.
