The industrial strength Dexas Duo-Clipcase is a dual-sided storage case and organizer with two full sized compartments. It is made from sturdy break- resistant poly that is rain and weather resistant. The top side is a compartment for forms, tablets or electronics with a smooth writing surface and metal clip. The back side offers additional storage for papers, notepads and more. Elastic bands in both compartments encourage organization and hold papers securely in place. I read a lot of reviews for this product. I was a bit concerned, but I decided to take a chance because I like the design. Dexas has a good reputation overall, so I figured it was worth it. Seems that most plastic clipboards are not regarded well, in my search for one, and all of them have the same complaints about fit and function. Most work clip boards are aluminum. They hold up pretty well, tend to have sharper corners, and have worked just fine for a long time. They only come in certain styles, though, and I wanted something that opened on the side and had two compartments and room for a pen. I did not want a flexing hinge, I find they fail pretty fast. So this has a hinges, a couple elastic straps to hold things down, and a pair of separate hinged latches on the sides. I would not call this heavy duty or industrial. If you need that, plastic is probably not your solution. I just needed something to write on and hold all my papers for work. All the heavy stuff happens outside, this is for inside, and just to organize paperwork. The front panel has a decent latch to hold paper on. I haven't had any problems yet, but it's still pretty new, and I only use a few pieces of paper there. Should be plenty sufficient. The surface does flex if you push on it with your finger. It's plastic and doesn't have reinforcement behind it, so it's going to flex, whether it's thick or thin. There is a little reinforcement in the corners, which I appreciate, since I would imagine that would be the breaking point. Since there isn't a bunch of criss-crossing supports behind the main panel, that does leave a good amount of room behind it. Probably enough for some paperback novels. It held all my work documents easily, probably close to 60 standard pages with stapes, with room to spare. Latch wasn't hard to use, held it together pretty good, didn't unlatch randomly. Some of these are too tight and hard to open, not the case with this one. Curious to see how long it lasts. The elastic band is on the inside of this compartment opposite the main panel. Another latch is on the second panel, giving you two total spaces to store things. It's the same as the front latch. The last storage area is the same except that there is clip/latch to hold paper, so it's mainly a storage area, though it does have the elastic band there as well. The side latch is oriented in the opposite direction as the first latch, which works nicely. Overall, I'd say this is a pretty good storage clip board. Seems to be designed well, fitment was pretty good. I did not have the warping and misalignment issues others have noted. I wouldn't trust this for any heavy duty work, but for someone that is just walking around handling paperwork, it should be fine. Just like the one I used everyday doing Rural Public Transportation that I bought 8 years ago using it and finally one of the hinges broke. Lasted much longer than expected.

I use this every day in my job. It does have very nice storage, and is very workable for every day use. I noticed the sides on the top clipboard section bows upward on the ends, but doesn't affect it opening and closing. I keep it down low in the truck when not in it to keep it from the sun, but it still bow up some. Worst issue I have with it is the clips to hold it shut. I lost the clip from the bottom part, and have absolutely no clue where it went, and never found it to snap it back on. To me it should be fixed on where it won't come off but it's not. It just has plastic rods and the clips just snap on to it and can come off fairly easily if your not careful. I have accidently removed the clip from the top many times and had to snap it back on. Also it won't open all the way around, only to half way. Other than that it's a nice clipboard case and works pretty well. ... show more

I've been looking for a clipboard with storage since I foolishly gave away my 1st one years ago. I found one a few years ago; however, it was not as well made as the original one. This one was to replace that one. Unfortunately, I am still not satisfied. It'll do until I find something sturdier and more versatile. When I received it the protective plastic on the outside clip had come off during shipping. Thankfully, it was easy to reattach. Yet that indicates that it will probably not stand up to the wear and tear of my lifestyle. It would have been nice if there was a corresponding clip on both sides of the interior. When you open the top storage area there is a clip with a wide elastic band on the right-hand side and nothing on the left-hand side. It does hold a nice amount of paper. Yet, there isn't much room for multiple pens. I use different colored pens for editing and it is challenging to find room. Maybe something on the left-hand side to hold pens/pencils/etc. And I haven't even mentioned the bottom compartment. It has an elastic band on the right-hand side without even a clip. I own a Dexas product for my side job, have had the same one with no issues for 5 years, so getting one for my regular job was a new brainers. I work in a high production facility and needed something that would be able to handle my 12 hour shifts, being dropped from high places, tossed around from one assembly line to another. I did not buy this for looks, so with all that said, and reading other recommendations heres the low down for me. Its durable and yes I have done all the above within the first week. Yes it does appear to not seem closed or maybe it looks a bit warped, but again I didn't order it for looks, I ordered it for durability. This holds all my papers, scratch sheets, lip balm, a small bottle of aspirin, pens, and a few tools we use on the line, and I still have room for more. It snaps shut and doesn't come undone even when dropped off a crossover ladder/catwalk, it does scare people when that happens..lol, but hey things happen. Bottom line is, if you're looking for something that looks perfect, then this might not be for you, but if you're looking for durability, sturdiness & something too hold your necessities so you can do your job, then this will accomplish that. ... show more

This is the second one I've had. The first one I bought was 6 years ago which I have since given to my partner. That one is still being used daily. I really loved the product. Even recommended it to a coworker. I bought the one pictured about a month or two ago and as you can see the latch is already broken. Very disappointed to say the least. The quality has really dropped. I would not recommend this for daily use. I work in the medical field and used it every day. This clip board is not sturdy enough to be used daily. ... show more
