Description

The Worx NITRO 20V Pruning Shear/Lopper is perfect for cutting branches, twigs, dead flowers and more up to 1” diameter. These handheld shears are the perfect tool for smaller applications when a full-sized hedge trimmer is not needed and offers more power than manual shears or loppers. At only 2.38 lbs. with battery attached and an ergonomic soft grip handle, the user can operate these shears for longer periods with little to no fatigue. You can also hold these shears with one hand, versus a manual lopper where you must operate with both hands. The compact brushless motor offers greater power, extended runtimes, and longer life versus tools with a brushed motor design. The titanium coating on the blades decreases friction, makes for easier cutting, and protects against rust erosion. These battery operated pruning shears have been such an effortless timesaver that I have absolutely no use for some very expensive manual loppers that I have bought. I suppose I’ll keep the manual ones in case someone steals these; but they’d only be on standby until I bought another one of these. They take out 3/4 inch branches with ease and seem to run all day. I can cut bigger branches by working my way around them with multiple cuts, but there are other tools more suitable for that. The included battery and charger work great. Very efficient and effective. Good weight and balance. Battery lasts a lo-o-ong time between charges. I find it will exceed 1" if I make 2 cuts. It shuts off automatically if you are not using it which is a great safety feature for a cutting tool. Fair price. Recommended.

This is my third pruning shear order. They are excellent machines!! Pruning time is cut by 75% on any job that they can handle. We do a great deal of landscaping and my wife and I have our shears going nonstop! Excellent battery life, you get tied before the battery is low. We have cut 2 to 3 hours straight before needing to replace a battery. Very easy to handle with one hand which makes reaching deep into shrubs easier to accomplish. Exceptional value for the price! My only concern is Worx customer service. Service phone number hangs up after telling you to use their website for FAQs. I broke a blade assembly and just want to obtain a replacement part for one of my shears. Help me out Worx customer service if you are out there! ... show more

These pruners are another quality Worx product. If you own Worx 20V batteries, you can order the tool only, but I recommend buying the tool with battery. The cost of a battery alone is more than worth the difference in price between the tool only and tool with battery. While this pruner and the Black & Decker pruner both have a one inch cutting capacity, I chose this pruner because it weighs about two pounds less than the Black & Decker with the battery attached. However, one advantage of the Black & Decker pruner versus this one is that the B&D pruner has replacement blades which are unavailable for the Worx pruner. This pruner is lightweight and easy to use. Attach the battery, hold the Safety Lock Trigger and the green LED will light up, depress the On/Off trigger and the blades will open to MAX position and you’re ready to go. While the official capacity of this pruner is one inch which it cuts through with ease, it will cut branches about one and one half inches with multiple cuts. When cutting branches over one inch the pruner will beep once and the blades will open up and the pruner will stop working. Depress the On/Off trigger and the pruner will start working again and you’re ready to continue. The blades have two settings. If you are cutting smaller branches, depress the On/Off trigger and hold until you hear one beep and the blades will open to a smaller cutting size. This pruner has several safety and battery saving features. When the blades are in the open position, even if release both triggers, the pruner will stay active for about one minute. After one minute of inactivity, the pruners will shut off. Depress the Safety Lock Trigger and On/Off trigger and the pruner will beep once and ready for use. When you are done using the pruner, depress and hold the On/Off trigger until you hear two beeps and the blades will close and the pruner will turn off. While the owner’s manual doesn’t mention it, there is a small ball bearing on one side of the blades that I noted had a small amount of residual oil when I first used the pruner. I would recommend occasionally pressing down the ball bearing and adding one or two drops of oil, especially if you do a lot of pruning. I previously ordered an off-name brand pruner for about half the price of the Worx pruner, but it stopped working after just two uses. I own other Worx products which have given me years of reliable use. I expect the same from the Worx pruner and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable electric pruner and a real Worx horse. ... show more
